I asked this question earlier. He said it's a black tar like product thats sprayed on. Its a waterproofing coating, not water resistant. I guess they make it in a roll on version as well, but he prefers the spray.

Oh, thats no big deal, aside from having to physically clean the muck off of the footers (mostly) by hand. Once they grade it and put stone down, it shouldn't happen again.

I'm still actively trying to purchase that lot. Have been since I bought mine. It's 7 acres. If it ever does come up for sale, I'll buy it.

Site flooded today. Footers are holding water and silt. That means lots of shoveling :( . They were supposed to finish grading and rock the whole thing today. Oh well I guess. The flood also washed a big ditch out in the middle of the driveway and more rock out in the road. Positive note. I...

They stripped the forming off today and looks to be all they did. The shadows are doing the first image no favors, but I'll share anyway

No clue. If I understand correctly, they pour the garage slab on top of the blocks, so it's almost "monolithic". The only other slabs I have will be entry on the back side of the garage and front porch.

No perimeter insulation. Vapor barrier, yes. That's code here. Waiting on a quote for crawl space encapsulation. If it's outrageous, it'll just be heavy mill plastic as a vapor barrier stone. Not sure what order they put the vapor barrier/stone

Take all the space you need in this thread. I enjoy hearing your experiences. I plan to keep taking photos/video. Especially when the plumbing and electrical is, before the drywall goes up. We say CO round these parts, btw. Also, there's so many decisions around the corner. I feel like I...

No clue. Probably just the black tar type stuff. He just told me he called the guy that does the waterproofing to let him know we were starting next week. Thanks man. Its def increased in speed over the last week. Everything has moved so slow, I'm pretty happy to see some real progress.

No basement. Considered it, but Steph didn't want the extra space to clean. Probably be encapsulated (waiting on a quote) and may pour a small pad to put outdoor type things under there. The foundation is going to be over 10' tall on that back corner, but doing 2-3' of back fill to mask it...

Block. 12" CMU everywhere thats retaining fill, 8" CMU above that. I have to stub a 2' bar up every 36" and fill that core with grout. The 12" block will also act as my bridge ledge, if I'm understanding correctly. I'm not extremely well versed in the block/brick world, so forgive me if I've...

I think they start Monday. That was the plan as of this morning. Block, brick, and mortar sand are ordered as well. Footer guys are out there stripping the forms and getting some grading work done.

Spoke with my builder. Footers are 20" thick at every step. He's happy, I'm happy. 8 concrete trucks in total. This is where I exit the train and he takes over. I'm ready for it

Footers are poured. They didn't do the deck piers. Everyone was gone when I got there. Tried to call my builder but went straight to vm. He must be tapped out. Called my excavator to see what the yardage ended up being. He said 78 or 79 yards, he couldn't remember exactly. :patriot: That's...
