Big upgrade, just got a real AI (Gemini)

They still tell many untruths, they're about as bad about not reading for comprehension as people are; and giving wrong answers because of that poor reading. If you drive off the pier, it's still your fault. You've been warned. ;) :argue: joe

A/C belt and tensioner failed. Should I also replace serpentine belt and tensioner?

Yep, I was on my way to work, new pump in the trunk. I also couldn't find a radiator before work Monday morning, so I had one built- $300 [$1200 in today's dollars]. joe

    exhausting question

Trust me, you're not alone. I've read, and seen on 'Engine Masters', that Dynomax offers the best combination of power from a quieter muffler. For decades now, I think automakers have been MOST interested in keeping the federal monkey off their backs. That includes noise regulations. joe

VERY likely oil shortages on the horizon: stock up now! (Availability & deal thread)

The main thing I've learned from this thread is that "synthetic" is mostly a lie. joe

VERY likely oil shortages on the horizon: stock up now! (Availability & deal thread)

Roughly 30 years ago, I had a jog hauling natural gas from Tulsa to central KS, where it was pumped into old salt mines, for storage. joe

I always thought that, depending on cost and such, it was smarter, in the long run, for us to buy oil and save ours; deplete theirs. joe

    Push bars

Every professional driving course I ever attended advocating backing in, or pulling through when possible. I don't remember any of them teaching me to watch the wrong obstructions though. joe

I could've done that, and damaged only the dirt, if I'd just been looking at the right pole. I'm pretty unhappy with me. joe

    Push bars

I backed into a pole yesterday, in a CVS parking lot. I knew it was there, and was watching it closely as I backed. But, Lord help me, there were 2 poles, and I was watching the wrong one. So, LOL, anyone know of a good REAR push bar? joe

A/C belt and tensioner failed. Should I also replace serpentine belt and tensioner?

If the current water pumps are on par with the old SBC motors' pumps, I'd still give it a close look. The old style didn't necessarily fail quick, but they could sure fail sudden. My '78 Camaro's pump had started to seep, and I did not let it linger. I bought a new one, to swap that next coming...

    Air Suspension v. Longer Wheelbase

From Perplexity... GM RPO code Z55 refers to GM’s Autoride suspension package, a computer-controlled, load-leveling system that uses electronically controlled shocks and rear air suspension to adjust ride height and damping. It’s commonly associated with GM trucks and SUVs like Tahoe, Yukon...
