Trying to Pass Smog using O2 extender

This. You dont want to extend the pre-cat sensor as it may cause the system to sense a false lean condition and up your fuel trims.

2007 Suburban 1500 totaled, shop another 10th generation or go older/newer?

I have a 99 and 13 burb. The 99 is better for hauling building supplies (tailgate), better visibility and easier to work on. The 13 is a 3/4 ton so it rides more like a truck, has lots of nice stuff that I don’t use a lot (infotainment, rear heated seats, leather..) but I don’t like the liftgate...

    codes p219B and p2635

lol..go ford dealership! Lets face it, it’s not just the shop its also the technicians. Find a good one and stick with them. My son had a rubbing noise from his transfer case and I drop shipped him the part and arranged to come down to install it with him in a few weeks. The noise started to...

    1999 Suburban suspension question.

Looks lower in your picture, especially in the rear. Still have all its leafs? Your overall height should be 70.7 inches. https://www.thecarconnection.com/specifications/chevrolet_suburban_1999

    Low speed ABS activation?

Is your Tahoe 4wd? Sounds like some binding in the front differential. Does it throw an ABS light? (and does the ABS light still come on when your first turn the key?). Are the triggering tight turns on dirt roads? Do you hear some tire chatter or wheel hop when turning?

First of many 2007 Tahoe questions

It sounds like a good idea to me as well, might deter some of the catalyst thieves too

    High fuel trims

I didn’t see mention of any codes, what if any did it throw? So many bad part stories on injectors out there, besides real gm oem parts I saw a guy that liked GP Sorenson from AutoZone. This attachment might be interesting to you as well

    High fuel trims

What brand of injectors did you get? A friend replaced injectors (off brand) as PM and was delighted when his computer told him he was getting crazy good mileage afterwards, but his fuel trim changed and it threw some codes. I asked him to check the mileage the old fashioned way and it turned...

Have you ever (tried to) replaced a brake light switch??

On my 99 burb I had some intermittent cruise issues and traced it to the brake switch. I found that wiggling the electrical connector on the brake switch fixed the problem. Replacing it is possible, just takes some patience. Several good videos on yt…

Need Help/Advice on Dealership Repair Work

I worked at a GM dealership years ago, they hire off the street and turnover can be an issue (that hourly labor rate they post in the service area is NOT what the mechanic makes, that’s dealer money); nowadays I dont think any dealership has all the fully qualified mechanics they want that can...

Suggestions for quiet aggressive looking tread tires

I just put some new tires on my burb, read a lot of reviews, had a little sticker shock. I had Cooper AT3s before, bunch of reviews said they were not taking a balance so I looked on. I also wanted something with good highway manners, but not something that would leave me sit in the snow or...

    Alignment camber issue

Did it myself, easy peasy. It pretty much prevents the camber adjustment from going anywhere and I haven’t had to make any tweaks since installing them. I did my own alignment afterwards, on the road with a bubble level, then used a camber level when I got home to verify alignment.

    Alignment camber issue

I put dirt kings on my 2013 k2500 after some hard stops knocked my camber out of whack. Just make sure the camber pins are in good shape, they fail too.

    22" chrome wheel leaks

We used to use tubes as a last resort type repair and they worked fine. Problem nowadays is the tpms sensor bolts to the rim and tubes have their own stem.

Transfer case or Front End whine/growl.

On my ‘99 my t case started making noise and turned out to be the pump shaft rubbing on the tcase housing. They make parts to prevent the pump shaft from rubbing through the soft magnesium case like.. https://www.amazon.com/TIKSCIENCE-Transfer-BRNY4080-78889-482460/dp/B095LQQCRV or...

    PS Fluid Flush Quantity

I do mine via dilution like a transmission fluid service. I just suck out the reservoir and refill it, drive and repeat a couple times. Takes about 2 quarts.

Plastic Door Molding and Wheel Well Cladding adhesive replacement

what intheburbs said plus I use an eraser to remove the residual goo (https://a.co/d/8a7cUBW). I find that while fingers are best for smaller areas, but for removing adhesive in larger areas it can leave your fingers pretty sore. Also, the erasers are fantastic for getting residual wax off of...

Need support. Just found out my radiator is leaking

You really should pressure test the system, many parts stores loan them for free (but for the money a worthwhile purchase) They do not cause damage to the cooling system (think about it, 10 psi from a tester is lower than normal operating pressure) and you can HEAR the leaks without the engine...

1999 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 Crank - Will Not Start - SOLVED

My 99 burb needed 3 new fuel pumps before I got one to work properly. When it didn’t start up before the new pumps I’d give it a whack on the fuel tank with a 2x4 and the pump would start right up. I had a shop do the pumps and we found that redline pumps made the gas gauge wildly inaccurate and...
