    4l80e direct clutch feeplay

The dir drum doesnt take a bushing. How exactly are you measuring your clearance in those two drums? List the steps you're taking...want to make sure you're doing it correctly.

    No clue what that is.

    4l80e direct clutch feeplay

Hi Blackbeard, Pull the piston out and check the lip sealing surfaces on your piston (im assuming you have a new bonded piston - if not, obtain one)...Also make sure the sealing surface in the drum isn't compromised in any way or the inner diameter of the direct drum doesn't have sealing ring...

What do I need to reset codes?

Have you fixed this yet? If not, wonder if it's simply your gas cap needing to be replaced. If that's it, should clear on its own once a new cap is installed.

    P0700 code on 2019 Tahoe

Not sure if you've figured this out already but if not, take the vehicle for a drive with a two way scan tool plugged in and live transmission and torque converter data displayed. You want to monitor things like tcc slip speeds at 70% or higher tcc duty cycle (should be no more than 10 rpm or...

    2017 Tahoe Trans rebuild advice?

Yep, a good tune should compliment the mechanical overhaul when it comes to these and other clutch-to-clutch transmisssions

    2017 Tahoe Trans rebuild advice?

See my 6L80 Information Thread for upgrades (link in my sig) - I made that thread specifically for DYIers and other intereted parties to simplify and bring clarity to dealing with these transmissions. Upgraded TC, Sonnax Zip kit (or Transgo repro kit), Sonnax billet 4-5-6 clutch hub, piston...

Severe problems after trans fluid change

Interesting - glad it was something simple!

Severe problems after trans fluid change

Yep, agree. Take to a reputable shop, one not connected to that guy. Both low fluid and filter not seated (or cracked filter, because he broke it lol). There's a fill procedure that has to be followed for those transmissions, maybe he didnt follow it.

Severe problems after trans fluid change

My thoughts are that maybe he screwed up and is now telling you to fix his mistake. Get the vehicle to operating temp and check fluie level. While doing so, smell the fluid on the dipstick to see if it smells burnt at all. If you have a scan tool, plug in to grab any codes that may be stored...

Severe problems after trans fluid change

Please quote my post if you'd like me to respond as I don't get notifications... Have you informed him of what's been happening after the service? If so, what did he say?

Did you do the service or did a shop do it?

    Stator shaft torx screws

Check for old thread locker on the threads and then check the threads in the stator support to see if they're partially stripped out (sometimes happens when stator bolts are removed) - assuming you haven't already done this...Otherwise, perhaps put a little WD40 on the threads and attempt to...

    Transmission Issues P0758!

Yep - see the post you quoted. If you dont have one, make the investment. A good scan tool enables you to perform a proper diagnosis vs just throwing parts (money) at the problem. Pays for itself after a couple uses. I believe you can also to some testing with a multimeter but not sure exactly...

    07 Escalade 6L80 into 12 Escalade - swapping 2012 valve body/TCM into the 2007 6L80

Great news, @jrobie79.So the VBs are interchangeable as an entire assembly provided the TEHCMs are either fast-adapted, reprogrammed if necessary or a 'correct' TEHCM for the vehicle is installed (the TEHCMs themselves never changed structurally, just programming-wise)...Haven't tried swapping...

    Transmission Issues P0758!

This sounds like a C2 issue (command and control). Stick a bidirectional scan tool and take it for a test drive to see if the pcm is commanding this sort of shift pattern and why. It could be tps, maf or pcm itself. Shift sol B is off in 3rd and 4th, shift sol A is on in first and fourth so if...

    07 Escalade 6L80 into 12 Escalade - swapping 2012 valve body/TCM into the 2007 6L80

The cases, most of the case internals are either the same or immaterially different. Valve bodies and spacer plates are definitely not all the same. 2010 saw a redesign of the vb and plate; 2014 saw the introduction of a new spacer plate with an 8th checkball (2006-14 had 7 check balls). You can...

    Problem going backwards

@Coolman1987us for the win! Nice net diagnosis, man. Glad you found it, hope no damage was sustained to anything...did you do or have any recent brake work done? It's a bit disconcerting that those bolts can come out on their on, looks like another item to check/retorque periodically...

    Problem going backwards

Ok now drop the pan and see if there's any debris at the bottom to rule in or out the problem being transmission-related. Alternatively, you can put the vehicle up on jackstands, disconnect the driveshaft, put the trans in neutral and see if you can spin the transmission's output shaft in...

    Problem going backwards

Sounds like gear train failure. Pieces of broken off gear teeth are wedging themselves into the rest of the gears, stopping the mesh and locking it up. Drop the pan and look for kibbles and bits. If observed, put the pan back on with a few bolts and yank it for overhaul.

    07 Escalade 6L80 into 12 Escalade - swapping 2012 valve body/TCM into the 2007 6L80

Let us know if this works. I'm not sure about running a 2010+ valve body/tehcm on a 2006-2009 case in a 2010+ as I've never done it. But the case components themselves never changedso maybe it will fly.

    07 Escalade 6L80 into 12 Escalade - swapping 2012 valve body/TCM into the 2007 6L80

Gotcha, wasnt sure of exactly when support ended but sounds like the latest LT1/4 engines arent compatible...what is that, like three entirely different engines GM has produced with the same friggin RPO code, lol.

    07 Escalade 6L80 into 12 Escalade - swapping 2012 valve body/TCM into the 2007 6L80

I would call the dealership service dept. They will be able to definitively tell you whether or not it's doable or not. Especially since you plan on taking it there, you want their position before you go. My official position has always been that they are not interchageable, at least not...
