What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

This is true but if you notice the marks are visible on the rear glass usually because they’re run continuously without water aka left in delay mode and no rain. i see it all the time and is why I removed the rear wiper on my 02, they're never used and when they are nobody uses the washer and...

Question about AWD models and high horsepower?

The transfer case isn’t the weak link, I wouldn’t worry about it. AWD in general is harder on the entire drivetrain though under high HP applications due to the fact the tires tend to not want to break their grip like a 2WD does. I have a 2002 Denali AWD with a blown/cammed 6.0 and I can tell...

    I'm Gonna Miss You Guys!

i dunno….guy up the street just got a new Denali 3500 and DAMN its fine as hell. That would be my ride, but hey if a few minutes behind the wheel convinced you to switch families then what can I say. Pretty sure you could have found the right rig in the GM flavor but maybe Ford is where you need...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Lmao. I just replaced my 17-year old windshield in my Tahoe due to a crack. it definitely wasn’t scratched from dry wipers being dragged over it for those 17 years. And BTW, I was a journeyman glazier for a good part of my career, which is a trade that works with glass and architectural...

    Anybody lower a 4WD?

I ended up going with Arnott’s As2715’s on the front t of mine. The ride is nice; they did lower the front an additional 1/2” or so from the worn-out stocks. Mine are flipped on the control arms, mounted under. Arnott SK-2954 Front Coil-Over...

Rocket Man’s 2008 Tahoe Build Thread

I’m not sure where you purchased it, but the Autel website does clearly state it comes with one year of free updates and one year of free warranty, its listed on the bottom of the features section. I don’t believe any diagnostic software comes with lifetime free updates anymore especially...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

You’re supposed to hold the washer fluid button for a few strokes of the wipers, not just the first one. Why are you concerned that the washer fluid is being applied from the trailing side of the stroke, when on the down stroke it’s being applied on the leading side anyway? Hold the button down...

That’s because you’re letting it update every single car manufacturer on earth. If you choose which updates you think you’ll ever need (I updated all the major ones, took me a few minutes to decide on the first go around) it doesn’t take long. First thoughts are it’s awesome and I haven’t even...

Rocket Man’s 2008 Tahoe Build Thread

I bought the Autel MK900BT scanner and got into the transfer case control module. The code is C0379:04 Front Axle System Open which sounds like a wire not making contact. Anyway, an electrical issue where when the truck is started it fails the self test of the module. I’ll figure it out someday...

Yeah I plan on a permanent carport at some point. I need a permit, I discovered. I don’t think I can get away with a lift in my driveway though. :p

Thank you. I’m looking forward to a new fence to block off the neighbors house and a carport. I’m putting up a temporary carport again for now. A big one like I want will require a permit. Then all I need to do is completely relandscape the front yard, install new siding, trim and a new roof...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I removed the factory spare from the 08 (160k) I bought that had quite a bit of rust on everything and I was sure it wasn’t going to come down without a fight. I’m sure it had never been lowered either. Surprisingly it cranked right down with no issues. The tire itself is dry rotted and wont...

Got my driveway poured; they’re coming Thursday to clean it, then I can seal it. Now I need a fence and carport. Way more room now, it seems huge.

Pentagon shape is called an Allen head. Very common. Harley Davidson’s use nothing else on the engine or frame. There’s some elsewhere on your truck.

The driveway is poured. They’re coming in a couple days to clean it and then I can seal it weather permitting. There’s a lot of real estate now.

    Anybody lower a 4WD?

That says Autozone wants $557 on my end here. Summit has them for $400. That’s what I paid. Summit FTW! https://www.summitracing.com/parts/NLT-REV013-0056

    Anybody lower a 4WD?

I just installed the Nolathane on my 08. They’re 1 3/8” solid steel for the front, very heavy. I like them. https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/rocket-man%E2%80%99s-2008-tahoe-build-thread.154961/page-6

    T's

I would never go with the Gruven ones for that reason. I couldn’t even install all those and tighten them with my supercharger in the way, I can barely get the quick connect ones on. And I’m not a fan of clamps at all.

Either choice is fine. For me, I figure the factory ones last 150-200k so I just replace them with the same at 150k as maintenance. One thing I didn’t see mentioned here, and I have no experience with then metal ones is how difficult is it to remove the metal ones if they leak in the future? The...

    Anybody lower a 4WD?

OK common sense answer here. Both my SUV’s are either AWD or 4WD and both drive extremely well in the snow and ice. It doesn’t matter if it’s 4WD or 2WD it can and should be dropped in my opinion. My 02 Yukon Denali has a blower, cam, headers, lowered, AWD…my 08 Tahoe LTZ is lowered and drives...

I might try to find the time. Been busy trying to do anything I need to my trucks while I still have a driveway to work on them. The Machine is in the front yard now where it will be trapped for about 2 weeks while they demo the concrete, pour the new and then it has to cure for a week I...
