What to look for and avoid in buying a used 2015-2020

My 15 model is running Gr8! Of course there will be things you need to do... The AFM really helps. I have done these mods also... Trans cooler thermostat replaced with the continuous circulation module, keeps tranny much cooler. Changed Tranny fluid and filter. Much smoother acceleration. Oil...

Question about 2022 Tahoe - included in engine problems?

Hey everyone, just noticed a nice looking 2022 Tahoe LT with low miles in Bradenton FL. It has about 40K, the Engine: 5.3L, EcoTec3 V-8, DI, Dynamic Fuel Mgt, V V T Do not know history yet, but it does look clean. My concern is... Is this vehicle included in the engine problem cars I have heard...

    GPS map update

My 2015 Tahoe with 140K is running good, knock on wood. My GPS is working, but I think an update is needed as many roads do not show up. Looking for a fix, but no luck. Amazon, Ebay and even GM cannot help. Has anybody found a solution to updating the factory installed radio/GPS maps. There is a...

Changing Oil Safely with Air Ride

FWR This is all good advice, do not trust the air ride system. Things break, and Stuff happens.

New radiator leaking fluid from upper transition line questions

I noticed an O ring inside the fitting attached to the radiator on my Tahoe, it was black, nothing yellow. Maybe the yellow was a plug used for shipping?

    Oil cooler gasket replacement

I did use the brass pipe for the drain process, worked great. Removing the clips from the radiator fitting was not too difficult... it was the reinstall that cause me grief... that is until I found out that they should be installed without the pipe line installed, then simply push the pipe into...

    Oil cooler gasket replacement

OK, time for an update. Good news, no more leakage after driving quite a bit. Still not 100% believing it... but looking good for now. Decided to do the transmision flush, which although sounded easy... it was an ordeal. The principle of using the engine to pump out the old fluid from the...

    Oil cooler gasket replacement

OK, got under the truck yesterday, and cleaned off the residual oil. Checked the oil pan bolts, felt like they were tight, but was able to turn an additional 1/8 turn on the suspect bolts. Did not want to push my luck by trying to get 1/4 turn :). Also looked into the inspection plate for the...

    Oil cooler gasket replacement

Thanks for that info. I think I will first try to check the torque on the bolts I can access, and snug up if needed. Give it a good cleaning then monitor. When I get that done, I will post again the results. Keeping fingers crossed!!!

    Oil cooler gasket replacement

Looked under the hoe today to check on the leakage... now I see that there is an oil cooler installed, with the two lines going forward. Actually, that mounting seems quite dry, and the only oil leakage seems from the rear oil pan bolts, and the cover to the rear main seal. I will check the...

    TPMS Problem

I had tpms readings and failures for quite some time. But some where I read to keep reprograming with the tool and monitor pressures with guage. After some time, the failures stopped, and the reading are accurate. I guess it's part of the learning process.

    Misfire mystery?

Just an observation... but are the plug gaps correct? They look quite wide to me... but that could be the zoom pic! Have you tried some fuel additive, I use that every couple of tanks to help keep the fuel system going.

    Oil cooler gasket replacement

I do not have a torque wrench that small. What should the torque be? I usually use the snug plus 1/4 turn procedure! Might need to visit HFT again, my favorite tool store.

    Cowl panel?

This is the panel that goes across the bottom of the windshield, and the wiper drive shafts run thru it. My panel is pretty worn out, and I have been extending its life with gorilla tape. Not high tech, by no means! Where can a replacement be found? I have checked online, and Parks Geek only...

    Oil cooler gasket replacement

I have had a small oil leak for the past year, maybe one or two drops a month. I do see some oil around the filter and the block off plate above. Thinking of pulling the block off plate and replacing the gasket. Is it necessary to drain the oil first before removing the plate? Last work I did...

2018 Tahoe LT door panel arm rest broken clips

You can repair these arm rests, but it is a hassle. Removing the door panel, laying it out to work on etc... The procedure is on You tube and will probably take a couple hours. If you do not have the original clips, you can sub with hardware from any home furnishing store. I also used epoxy to...

It Rained so 2015 Yukon won’t start, Help!

Is the cowl panel in place, just below the wipers. Also, there should be small connector panel on the end of each side. I think this could allow water into the electronic systems. Battery and chassis ground points should be checked also. My cowl panel is not in the best shape, but I have it...

    What about it?

What about a 22, 2WD, with 70K miles, 5.3 motor. It is a certified preowned vehicle. Just do not know if this is included in the engine problems?

GMC 6.0 Ran fine until I changed plugs, wires, coils.

Guess the old saying, if it ain't broke... applies here. I know what you have just been through, and you had high hopes for a better outcome. Go back and check the coil connectors, I found several of mine had the plastic lock broken. So possibly one is not connected properly. Also plug...

Best way to clean black grill?

Leaf blower works great on wheels/tires, running boards, all window trim, Fuel door, rear window wiper area and hatch. As a touch up I use a quality chamie or towel.

    22” Tahoe tires

My 15 Tahoe came with 24's, they were big. But they looked to "hoeish" for me. I found a nice set of 22" wheels with new tires, and they look much better. Neither rub or cause any issues.
