    Rear main Seal

Well I got the rear cover and gasket all torqued down per instructions. Did I only need to add rtv in the corners once I get the pan installed? Watched a few youtube videos of guys installing rear main seal cover with no rtv because the oil pan was not present. and he added the rtv at the four...

    Rear main Seal

Well my leak seems to be coming from the bottom of the seal. More than likely it was leaking enough and the flexplate/crank was slinging it around in the bellhousing. Is it necessary to use the rear cover alignment tool. The kit I have came with a new cover and the seal already installed in...

Only if my air compressor worked I got an old 230v in the garage but I can't find anyone to wire me an outlet. That's what made me get the impact. I grabbed a 12" screwdriver from Lowes I'm gonna crawl back under later on to see if that will lock the motor. I'm also having 2nd thoughts about...

Mines not coming off that easy. When I use the ratchet and socket the flywheel starts to spin. On my old Ford I could jam and extension or screw driver in the access spot. I tried a screwdriver but it may of not been big enough.

This morning I removed the starter to inspect the crankshaft position sensor. There was oil on the block where the 2 starter bolts go but the sensor wasnt wet. I went ahead and replaced it and added some rtv on the o-ring. Sort of leaning toward my issue being the rear seal. Since the transfer...

Over the years I have changed the oil pan gasket several times thinking that was the problem but it seem to be the rear main seal. The valve cover gaskets have been changed recently and while doing...
