    Just did a 5.4 triton. 3 valve. Chain Rattle on start up. Cam fasers bad. VVT solenoids as we know run off of oil pressure. Chain guides leave the chat and super chain slop.     Carbon build up on valves? Spider injection harness plug terminals clean? Pull valve cover for that side and check for loose rocker or push rod/lifter failure. Compression test that cylinder .

    It's all good! Like I said everyone has there own ways. U can take the block off cap and use a bench sander and lightly level it and use the gasket( not a cheap one) and seal it up with nothing but the gasket. I feel u. I used to use the crap out of it.

    And yes factory gaskets will leak. There a man made object. That's one of the reasons there is TSBs and each tech has there fixes that work. I try and use the least amount of RTV as possible. That's just me. And it has worked. U do it right the first time there's no problems. That's just me.

    No sir! I'm just saying that when all engines are built or assembled, they don't use RTV. Maybe where head meets block or the lower timing cover hits the oil pan. When ur gasket leaks for the first time, u find a worn out gasket not a gasket covered in RTV. RTV is a gap filler. U must surface...

    I'm the type of guy that only uses RTV on must use situations. Like rear end covers or must use applications. If u clean the surface good and tighten it down properly, then u wouldn't need it. Factory doesn't use it!

    I just googled 08 5.3 oil cooler block off plate gasket. Then took a pic of what came up.

    Man, I used them on a lot of things and shipping sucks and u can't get anyone on the phone and if u do all they tell u is just wait. No shipping options. I would pay for quick ship but they do not offer. Will not use them again.

    Me... aftermarket radio double din. Puts off a nice 6k head light back at ur face. So at night people can see ur back seat! Lol. Good thing it has a screen mode button.
