    Steering wheel options

I have had my eye on the Autowoods wood grain steering wheel for my '08 Burb LTZ for a while. It was always a want and not a need. Now I was thinking about buying it and their website is no longer functional. I saw they have an Ebay store but it doesn't show the same wood grain options that...

Rocket Man's 2008 Bagged CC Silverado Build AKA "THE MACHINE"

My '08 has it, that is what made me notice it. '09 was the first year to have the chrome along the rear bumper "step", I believe because that is when the bumpers changed.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

There are two different options. One option doesn't use an isolator and one does. I prefer the isolated option because if one battery dies you can jump start yourself off the other. When connected in parallel without an isolator both batteries discharge at the same time. I believe there are...

    Squeak from Serpentine Belt Area

You said you have only had it about 2 months. Do you have any maintenance records? It is also possible that the power steering pump pulley is slightly out of alignment which will cause the belt to squeak. Stick a straight edge across the face of the various pulleys to see if there is any...

No, it comes off pretty easy.

Rocket Man's 2008 Bagged CC Silverado Build AKA "THE MACHINE"

If you remove the bumper cover and boil a big pot of water and pour it down inside the area where the damage is you will be able to push it back out where it should be. The hot water is much safer than the heat gun as it is easy to hold that heat gun in one spot for too long on accident. Is it...

I don't have a 3rd row monitor, but yes splicing the wires together should get you the same video on both screens.

    GMT900 6.2 PPV Build Log

So you are saying that the thicker head gasket, reducing quench/compression, will be less efficient at keeping the engine from detonation and therefore require higher octane to compensate for the increased chance of detonation, if I am understanding you correctly.

    GMT900 6.2 PPV Build Log

Just curious, why/how would a thicker head gasket "RAISE the minimum safe octane"? A thinner head gasket would raise the compression ratio and require higher octane, wouldn't it?

Let's sift through every square inch of a 2013 Tahoe PPV

There are aftermarket cam plates that allow for extra camber adjustment. They also make offset ball joints for camber adjustment. Personally I believe the drop struts are the best option.

    Resurrecting my 12 Burban

My guess as to why they had all the rings on the struts is because they had 2" spindles + 2" springs that they cut + the drop struts which would sit the fenders on the tires, so they realized they screwed up and the easy fix was to add the spacer rings to lift it back up some. My kit was all...

Adding an aftermarket radio to 07-14 FAQ

Crutchfield's notes also contain multiple contradictions. So I'm not sure what to say. I don't use Onstar so if I did lose it I wouldn't know. It is funny because in one sentence it says you lose it and then in the next it says you retain it, same goes for the factory amp, one sentence say...

Adding an aftermarket radio to 07-14 FAQ

With a Maestro RR you can install anything you want and still maintain all factory functionality. It is an added expense above the cost of the head unit but as the old saying goes, "Buy once, Cry once". In the grand scheme of things it really isn't that much extra expense to keep everything...

Remote learning active will not display, TPMS not programming

I know some of the '07s had a software issue with the RCDLR module and there was an update. Not saying that is your issue but it is a possibility. The Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) module is what receives the signal from your fobs as well as your pressure sensors in the tires and is...

Remote learning active will not display, TPMS not programming

Year, make, model? I believe the '09+ won't allow you to relearn the TPMS without a tool, where as the '07-'08 trucks allow you to do it by raising/lowering tire pressure in a particular order.

    Silverado Y pipe on escalade?

I guess I missed the LT header part of the discussion. I can tell you with stock manifolds, or shorty headers like I have, getting rid of the cats makes for a noticeable loss of bottom end power. It has less to do with back pressure and more to do with losing heat which slows the exhaust gases...

You will also lose some bottom end torque unless you downsize your Y-pipe... don't ask me how I know :emotions33:
