    I had the same issue on my '86 BMW 535i, along with the seat belt latch rattling on the console on the passenger side when unoccupied. I used the fuzzy half of Velcro to take care of both problems.

    For OE or OE-equivalent torque converters, some slip is required because they are designed to always have slip and not having it can damage the friction materials. From all that I've read about the Luk you installed (and which I intend to install in mine), you can zero slip without any concern.

    Thanks for the input. Keeping the flange of the pickup tube pressed evenly across the oil pump is my concern. Having only one bolt on one side seems non-optimal, no matter whether it falls off.

    Using gummipflege helps a lot as well. I use the Nextzett brand (you can get it at Amazon), but BMW dealers sell a version as well.

    The part numbers for the oil pressure sender show it's a dual-function sender and it has four terminals. TBH, I haven't checked the wiring harness. You're saying the wiring harness does not have provision for the temperature part of the sensor?

    Without information about stuff like viscosity (as in live viscosity at a given moment) vs. pump actual volume output (which can't be measured without an inline meter) and probably other factors, there's no way it could be calculated.
