Stunned!! Denali 6.2 spun a rod bearing at 25k..

25k is a good life for one of these.

3 bolt vs 4 bolt steering box

They are not interchangeable. It’s the splines on the shaft not the number of bolts. 4 splines is for a van as far as I know.

    2003 Tahoe Complete Wiring Harness

You cannot buy this. We make it with pigtail connectors for the throttle body and TAC module and use TXL wire to finish the job.

Rear driver side brakes making awful creaking sound

Calipers. Very common. Nothing to do with the bracket or pins. The piston in the bore is making the noise.

    Buyer Beware - Don't Buy a Yukon

If I was forced to buy one of these body style SUV’s (which I wouldn’t), I would pick the diesel, and I’m not a diesel guy at all. I haven’t heard of any catastrophic failures with them (although it is a mechanical thing and that is always possible). The main issues with them are stuff like...

I think they cared a little up to about 2015.

Looking to Buy New Battery Cables

Do a voltage drop test while cranking after driving the truck and getting it hot. The negative cable spec is 200mv and the short positive is 50mv.

Looking to Buy New Battery Cables

Rock Auto sells all the OEM cables last I checked. You also need the short positive cable that connects the battery to the distribution center. That one often has more voltage drop than the negative cable but you should definitely replace both as they are both very problematic.

    Buyer Beware - Don't Buy a Yukon

The 900s may be too “truck like” for these current truck buyers but I’m very happy with my 2008 and my 2013 compared to what I’ve been seeing go wrong on the K2 and T1 trucks since they’ve come out and I won’t own one. The quality for the money is absolutely pitiful. When I get into a 800 or...

    Buyer Beware - Don't Buy a Yukon

I’d hope to not have issues either with the amount of money you’ve spent buying new cars every 1-2 years…

    Escalade Auto/Express Up Windows

I Googled those part numbers and found some pictures, but I can’t quite tell how the manual mechanism is attached to it. I do know for sure the express up motor will work in place of the standard motor because one of my used regulators was damaged and I reused my original one when I did this...

    Escalade Auto/Express Up Windows

I can’t quite tell if those regulators will work based on the pictures I’m finding or not. Rock Auto shows they fit all GMT-900 so maybe the part where the crank handle would attach just unscrews and the motor can be screwed in place. Maybe try buying one from Amazon so returns are easy?

The profile of the lobes for the AFM cylinder is different. The lift and the ramp rate are different. This cat has been skinned for YEARS and all his information is out there. If this worked, everyone would sell a kit. It isn’t some money making scam by all the cam manufacturers, because they...

    DOD Delete Theory

They do not. They don’t have VVT either. AFM first came out in the S/T trucks in 2004 if I remember correctly with the 5.3L, then came out in the full-size 5.3L in 2007, and was then added to the 6.2L SUVs in 2010. Now everything has it including Corvettes and Camaros. In 19/21 some of them got...

    DOD Delete Theory

Show me these kits then? ALL AFM delete kits include a cam or tell you you need one. ALL cam kits say to measure for pushrod length to ensure the valvetrain geometry is correct and center the rocker on the valve. The lobe shape on the camshaft is different for the AFM cylinders. Make sure you...

    DOD Delete Theory

I don’t see it working. I would risk the amount of pain in the ass it is to get heads off of a V8 S/T truck. If it worked, this would be a million dollar idea and everyone would offer a kit to do it.

    Escalade Auto/Express Up Windows

I was assuming he was asking because he wants an OEM regulator and not aftermarket. I would get a used OEM regulator before I’d buy a aftermarket one. You could get manual windows in a strippie GMT-900 Silverado or Sierra.

I’m not sure how the manual mechanism is made, so I am not sure.

That spring is to allow the lifter body to move up and down with the cam lobe but the valves stay closed. The pushrod, rocker, and valve do not move in V4 mode.

    DOD Delete Theory

I don’t see this working. These are hydraulic lifters, not solid, and you’re trying to move length from the solid side to the “collapsible” side.

question about diving in 4wd on the highway

Do you have any new noise that wasn’t there before if you drive in auto? If not, you may have dodged a bullet but there is a pretty good chance you caused damage driving in 4 HI.

GMT800 vs GMT900. Which to buy?

You get used to the seats quickly. I find the 07-09 ventilated seats very comfortable and the blowers actually cool the air not just blow the hot air from inside.
