    Tahoe Hybrid with G80?

Posting in the correct forum now... Does anyone know if the Tahoe Hybrid 4x4 was ever offered with a G80 rear locking differential?

    Tahoe Hybrid with G80?

Was the Tahoe hybrid ever offered with a G80 locking rear diff? Also, 2009 was the last rear it came with a 3.42, while 2010 it switched to 3.08, correct?

Has anyone converted back to straight gas

@Dropped HYbro, did you ever get the rear end replaced? How did this turn out?

Lights all in. The side marker lights flash simultaneously with the turns signals (not alternatively), which I don’t mind, but aren’t they supposed to be illuminated otherwise when the parking lights are activated?

Ok, it’s the bulbs. I had two different types in there (to compare which is brighter), I swapped them around, and now the DRLs come on when parking lamp switch is on, but not the parking lamps. Just need to order another set of the bulbs that work. Given that they are LED, I should be able to...

The DRLs do flash orange, just don’t light up white. I’ll try to flip them around to see if reversed polarity will change anything.

Almost... Last bit of lighting up front, I’m trying to get the DRLs to come on with the Parking Lamps. One of the DRL sockets is melted, so instead of replacing them, I figured I’d just let it be, and tap into the parking lamp wires so the DRLs come on at the same time as the parking lamps...

Indeed Mark was right, I put the high beams in to test, and the fogs work!

Swapped a couple different relays around, same thing is happening (when I flip the headlights to on, the fogs turn off). The fogs only work in the parking lamp mode. My highbeam bulbs are missing at the moment, along with my DRL’s, as I’m in the process of swapping in LED bulbs. I initially had...

Hmm something screwy is definitely going on with my headlights. Could a faulty headlight switch cause this?

Updated the fog light housing in the 01 Yukon... They work great, but only when headlights are off. When the headlights get turned on, fog lights immediately turn off. Is this normal?

    Seat swap

Are either trucks power seats? Heated too? Even though they will bolt in, you may want to first check to see if the connecters will be plug and play. Also, check to see if both seats have the “Airbag” decal on the side of the vertical bolster, as the ones that do, also have their own...

    Electric fan conversions

Ah yes okay, I misread. That would be nice indeed if the NNBS fans fit as well.

    Electric fan conversions

Yes, indeed the 05-06 e-fans should bolt right in, provided that you have the wider style radiator.

Yup, looks like steel scrubby filter type material already in there.

Ah yes, so stuff even more steel scrubber in there... good idea, will do.

Do you mean add steel wool to the inside of the catch can? Which grit?

Btw instructions say to trim to fit, then zip tie together, but I wanted less kinks/angles in the hose, plus slightly longer hose would allow me to easier move it out of the way without needing to remove it if working on something else. Does hose length matter in this case?

Awesome. Done and done. Hoses are tight as can be. I’ll replace the PCV valve to the correct one when it arrives tomorrow.

Here is how it all connects, hose to elbow below plate with three screws, and the other side to the PCV at the end of the valve cover in the drivers side. Just have to slice the hose and plug both tips into the can, and forego the entire original hose.

Since my PCV hose doesn’t have the built-in connection tips and allows the hose to just be slipped off, I’m thinking I can just replace the entire PCV hose with the hose that came with the catch can. First photo shows how snug the (old) PCV valve sits in the new hose, and the second one is both...

Precisely, I thought the same that it didn’t look right, but it does indeed have a PCV valve at the tip, which fits into a grommet on the drivers side valve cover, near the firewall, and into an elbow connection which is somewhat pinned down by that plate. Fairly certain it is the correct...

Actually very helpful, I’m realizing that the only thing that confused me was the photos in the instructions, which seems to be from an 03-06 5.3, and the hose layout is just a tad different. Although it would be nice if someone with a 00-02 5.3 chimed in who installed a catch can, I think I...

Thanks a lot, indeed I did see this on your build thread, which gave me the idea to install on my 5.3, and further alerted me when I saw so much oil draining out of the intake. The install seems easy enough, however I’m just confused as to which hose I should be splicing mine into. Also, the...

Can anyone identify the PCV valve hose on the 01 Vortec 5.3, which I should be splicing the oil can into? The Moroso instructions that came with the unit aren’t very helpful. They instruct to remove the PCV by twisting it, along with the port, but I didn’t want to snap it so I just slid the...
