Yeah that’s what my understanding of it is. Never ever seen a 1500 SUV with QS. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was one such as this dudes that was a custom conversion made to seem like it was factory. But ya know how that goes. lol He has yet to provide photos so ya know how that goes :p
Yeah I’ve seen a few examples of the Denali half ton ECSB quadrasteers. I actually like that particular truck. The back end wheel wells kinda look like a duallie rear end even though it’s not. lol
So I joined a “Yukon Denali Only” page on fb a little while back just for shiggles….. lol it’s been an interesting show to watch. So many trucks clapped out and running on 26 and 28s and can’t figure out why their trucks ride like garbage or constantly have suspension issues….. lol. Fun to...
Another good point! Everything from 2000 forward on the big SUVs uses plastic t shaped connections in the coolant lines that go from the water pump up to the heater core. There’s a funky angled t shaped piece at the lower end in between the hoses just after the water pump. Mine cracked last...
Doesn’t hurt keeping fresh fluid in it often. I have my transmission serviced once a year even though I don’t even do sever duty mileage schedules which is 30-40k a year on trans service intervals. I drive like 15-18k a year and still just service the trans because it’s cheap insurance. After...
Make sure your cooling system is up to the task. The biggest killer like @tagexpcom brought up is heat. Fresh coolant in the radiator and surge tank before any tow trip. Make sure all
Your hoses and belts are in good order. No leaks or cracks. Make sure your water pump is not leaking coolant or...
This right here! My PAC module that I had installed for my clarion headunit in my 2006 Denali with the Bose Lux amp worked fine but I when I switched to a slightly higher end pioneer unit with a couple more features that PAC module is 50/50…… sometimes it works and my steering wheel controls...
I will always love the GMT800 Escalade. It was the one that always made me want one and for whatever reason I just like the design of aspects of this generation caddy lol.
I ran those same dark finish 20s on my 2006 Denali XL for about 3 years. Good looking wheel and very easy to keep clean...
I have a good friend with a black 2016 LT Tahoe and hers is doing the same thing. Sucks.
But I’ll add in simply because OP mentioned it in the first post that the Tahoe gets waxed only once a year?! What are you using on it that once a year wax job? Because of its not a thick long lasting...
pro tip from a professional detailer….. never run your ceramic coated vehicle through a non touchless automatic wash!
The combination of the usually VERY abrasive soaps they use, and the fact that the rotating brushes are just as abrasive, will strip your ceramic coating after only a handful...
Really cool truck for sure!! Sounds like a real badass beats for towing! I’m so jealous! I’d love one of these things to tow with! Th ask for sharing the trip photos!! Awesome shots and glad you’re taking it on adventures!
I’ve had three clients in the last year come to me wanting a paint correction and ceramic coating on a black GM relatively newer models, and said multiple detailers wouldn't touch their newer black paint….. I was quite surprised at that. lol.
That would look great on your 2012 Denali! It’s a good looking wheel. Have seen quite a few latest gen silvys running on them and I like them a lot. I’ve had three different sets of 20s in my 2006 now since ditching my factory 2006 17 inch wheels. Currently running 2021 spilt spoke polished...
On top of this, GM black paint at least from experience detailing latest model GM vehicles is notorious for being incredibly “soft” so to speak compared to other black paints and will scratch so incredibly easily.
I’d put money on the automatic ambient sensor mounted in the headliner just above the drivers seat being screwy. You mentioned a sunroof leak and that sensor is just rear wards of the sunroof definitely in the path of a potential sunroof look. It probably got wet.
I got super lucky with this exact failure on my 06 Yukon XL Denali, six years or so ago. What happens is the pieces that move the glass along the track to either vent it up or drop it down and slide it back break and then they get lodged somewhere in the track. Usually wherever they get lodged...
I feel ya, we’re getting our first true blast of winter last night into today and tomorrow. It hasn’t snowed a ton yet up here but it’s cold and stormy for sure so far. Definitely makes it harder on truck maintenance.
So far so good! No storm rolled in yet as they predicted. We shall see. Was sunny 50, and mild wind all day. Taught on the mountain and socal Edison cut off power up here “as a precaution to prevent risk of wildfire.….” I get it but dumb considering they over reacted to the wind and weather...
