Well figured i'd share this in the exterior section even though i posted it in my ramblings thread about my burb. But this past weekend i installed a set of Morimoto XB headlights. if i had been thinking, i would've taken some before pics, but let's face it, we all know how the stock headlights perform. And let me tell you, first impressions, WOW. So much better and cleaner light then stock. To install them, you do have to pull the bumper, Morimoto has a nice video showing how to do that, it's not to hard, but it does extend the time frame on how long this take. In terms of wiring, EASY. You drop a fuse tap into #75 under the hood, and run the wire to your housings. That's the only added step. One you've gotten that far, you get to start plugging in the new lights. They use the factory plug, no adapter harness, or canbus boxes or resistor boxes, nothing. Just plug in the headlights like they were stock. That will get you to this point (and might as well put a light bar behind the grill while you are there
From there, you put everything back together and get to this , and man. do they look good
And once you've done that, you get to wait until it's dark to aim the headlights at 25 feet. and just really appreciate the clean beam pattern they give you. Adjustment is done from the top with a phillips screw driver. Nice and easy, from the factory both were aimed very high I'll be doing some gues and check measurements since i don't have a good option for flat land with a wall 25 feet away at my house. But i'm pretty sure i got them pretty close. I'll fine tune them over the weekend when the burb gets driven the most.
Then you get to appreciate the perfect amount of fog out for some good glamor shots
But what you really want, is some use pics. These are going down my driveway
Low beams
High beams
Lighting is amazing as you would expect from Morimoto. I'll link where i got them, they usually have a way to save 5% or more off the listed price, and lets face it, in this economy every penny matters I'll also try and get the wife to help make a video, i have one, but i didn't get the startup sequence which is kind of neat to watch. Overall impressions, 10 out of 10. I might be biased since i've had the XB housings on my truck for a couple years, but i love the quality they put out. You just can't beat them
