Airing down F load MT Tires how much is safe?

I’m running the Hercules TIS TT1 and it’s an F load tire. My truck came with max trailering package and I realize these tires far exceed my load use.

They say max pressure 80 psi



How much can I safely air down when off-roading with 35x12.50r20 12 ply tire. Their website doesn’t have a minimum reference.

Air them down to 50/55 and see if you get even tread contact across the tire.

all I can tell you is most guys air down to 10 psi on the trails, albiet that is mostly people that are doing at least some rock crawling
so my advice would be to only air down if you know there is going to be some hard to pass thru places
I can also tell you that some tires have no benefit at all by airing down
I personally do not even bother and might only if stuck already and have no other options that are working., maybe if I was traveling with a group and didn't want to hold everyone up by airing down later fully expecting that there may be a difficult area
go prepared for almost any scenario is my best advice

I was in a mountain road situation years ago covered with snow. I had difficulty even in 4wd with BF Goodrich tires inflated to 35. I drop the pressure to 15 and never had an issue. The next day when back on regular surface pavement, I re inflated back to 35.

I was more worried about them being 12 ply and 3ply sidewall. I ran them at 65 to start no full contact patch. Then at 58 off road and slipped on everything not mud. At 48 now and gotta say the drive so far is the best yet and get good contact patch while DD. These f load are stiff and made for heavier rigs. Just worried going that low. Will try 25 today in Hungry Valley
