My wife's Escalade is stock with 20k miles, my Tahoe has a cat back magnaflow exhaust with 7k miles. Both have made the noise from day 1, other 6.2's I've been around make the same noise as well. Just one of the quirks you get from a high performance V-8.
I installed the magnaflow catback, it does have a little bit of drone to it on the highway and you get some weird noises when AFM kicks on. But it sure sounds good when you're on it and driving around town. I haven't heard the Borla GM setup yet but I would imagine its quieter.
I lowered and debadged my 6.2 RST, looks a lot better IMO. I did the 2/4" drop, I got the 4wd because I'll be flat towing it behind a motorhome and occasionally going snowboarding or pulling a boat out of a launch ramp. Let's face it, you aren't going to do hard core off roading in a $75k Tahoe.
I picked up an RST 6.2 Tahoe in March, noticed immediately that it has a whine that sound like its coming from the transmission pump. Anyone else with the 10-spd notice it? It's noticeable when the truck is idling and not moving so I know its not the planetaries making noise. I'm planning on...
I picked one up at the beginning of the month. Promptly did a NorcalSS 3/4 drop and Magnaflow exhaust, I'm really enjoying it so far. My wife has a 17 Escalade ESV and the 10-speed is a HUGE improvement over the 8-speed. I think I'll stick with this one for awhile.
