    Air in brake line

Well i replaced the master cylinder after bench bleeding a new one. I then bled all four wheels from farthest to nearest. No air came out at wheels. Pedal response was a bit better, but still soft. Also the brake light and abs light came on. Looks like I'm going to have to tow it to the shop...

    Air in brake line

It's like you were living my life lol. Exact same thing happened to me - I'm heading into the drive to follow the process again, this time with a different helper. Hopefully my results are as good as yours.

At my wit's end and about ready to light this thing of fire

LOL, I'm a bit embarrassed to say I've used my kids to reach places I could not... They were happy to help!

    2dr frame off questions.

Looks like a great ride - I understand the desire to protect it and do it right. Sounds like it's not your daily driver, so the options expand from there. I'm considering this myself. For starters, you'll be hard pressed to find a step-by-step on the process, simply too much information and...

At my wit's end and about ready to light this thing of fire

First, I'm sorry for the trouble - and sorry no one has responded! Have you fixed the trouble or can you provide an update? Any pics of the leaking area? Your description is good, but I'm a visual guy so pics help. Thanks,

    Engine replacement options

I'm going down this road as well. Ultimately cost was a factor. I was able to get a 96 vortec 454 - including the harness and all the accessories for $350. The fact that the 454 fits existing mount points is a plus. The electronics that came with the 454 bolt in the same place - no new wires to...

Getting my 1996 Yukon back on the road

Good job! Do you have any pics to share of your hard work? I've got a 96 yukon as well.

    LSD Upgrade

Thanks for the topic - I'm considering replacing the diff as well. However I'm not sure about the pinion bearing. Question - when I removed the pinion nut the yolk practically fell off, and the pinion bearing slides back and forth on the pinion shaft. Is this normal? I've worked on these...

1996 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 suspension issues

I know it's a late response - but I wanted to commend you on the summary - I wish my mechanic was that direct! I'm still paying on the muffler bearing overhaul...

    Painting Stock wheels black

Literally bought these rims, tires and the spare for $60 so I could return to the stock offset. I was thinking about painting them black, but after seeing your pics I think I'll stick with the alloy finish. Just a preference- I like both the same, so why put the effort forth.

'95 Tahoe 2dr Spare Tire Mount

Hey guys, I know this topic is stone cold, but I wanted to expand on the information for the sake of the group. I'm "restoring" my 96 gmc and finding the parts the PO threw away is a bit of a task. Every little bit helps. Here are the part numbers and a diagram...

    Input please.. Front end work

Agree completely. Honest recommendation is to replace the parts yourself, then take the truck in for an alignment and call it a day. You'll be hundreds ahead and proud of your work. Personally, I've never found the elusive shop that will do repairs with parts you provide. I've called around...

1996 Yukon 4x4 transmission replacement options...

I’m doing mine. Here’s what I did when swapping the transmission 1. Get underneath and take pics, make sure the wires and plugs are the same. I know this is a pain, but it was easier for me than pulling just o find out later. If the wires and plugs match up you should be oK. Sent from my...

Rebuild 350 or swap in 383 in 96 2 door yukon

Thanks again for the tip. I swapped the ICM yesterday. The one I pulled off looked like new, even had the “Singapore” laser print on the face. However there was very little thermal paste on the surfaces. I smeared the new surfaces with an even layer. Hopefully it will work. I’ve got another cap...
