Replacement arrived and was installed with ease. Truck idles smoother (no more shuddering) and the fuel economy is greatly improved, along with engine power. I also notice that my shifts from 1-2 are a lot smoother. YMMV
I checked the voltage on my MAF and it didn't not change when accelerating in park. This lead me to believe that my MAF is malfunctioning (explaining bad hesitation, shuddering, and loss of fuel economy). Delphi replacement on the way!
Codes came back again. It was relatively cold when they did, temps in the 20s in the morning. This weekend it was 70 and the lights went off. Maybe it's temperature related? Bad gas? Gremlins?
I had the same codes (P0171 and P0174), I cleared them 3 times and they kept coming back. I cleaned the MAF really well with MAF cleaner and started the vehicle. Ran rough for a few minutes and the CEL disappeared. I will see if they come back.
Got the lovely "battery not charging" message on the DIC Sunday morning. I left the car running until I got home. Turned it off and back on again, and nothing on the dash worked. I tested the battery with the car off and it was reading 12.12V and with the car on 11.45V. Went and bought a NEW...
I would gut the stereo system and part out. Install the mirror and retake pictures. If possible, put the original intake back on. I agree that all the custom stuff is really going to detract your everday buyer. Most people are looking at Tahoes for the extra room. When you have a stereo...
Look on the driver's side dash fuse box. There are two large black relays. One controls the locking and the other the unlocking. Swap the two and you should be able to unlock but not lock. They are a cheap replacement ($15 for two on eBay.)
Greased up the slip yoke on my 2WD rig. When I pulled the driveshaft, the slip yoke was completely dry. I was experiencing slow acceleration from stops, squeaking over bumps, and stuttering over bumps. All that is solved by adding some grease ($5 for a whole tube of Lucas Red and Tacky)...
If you don't hear any clicking when you go to start it, it is more than likely the starter solenoid. That's cheaper to replace than the whole starter. However, for peace of mind, you could replace the whole thing. Relatively easy, just a couple of bolts to undo.
