It didn't come from a PD. It came from a FOIA request for maintenance documents I forced the City of Fort Worth to turn over. If the City took the time to forge the 95 pages of maintenance records in 10 days and colluded with LKQ for the engine and GM for the reman transmission to have them...
I kept it. It has a reman
I kept it. The transmission was not a donor. It was a factory reman GM transmission. I repainted it and it is doing great. Ran Blackstone tests on the oil and transmission and everything is wearing in just fine.
Bilstein 5100 series front struts and rear shocks. They provide excellent highway stability and good gravel performance. This is the one of the best upgrades for this platform. I have them on a 2019 ppv and they are awesome on the road. My wife SSV has Monroe OESpectrum abd those are fine as well.
Civilian consoles absolutely will fit. I have a car audio shop install the consoles for me so I am not certain on the wiring. I normally source the consoles from junkyards. Way cheaper than eBay. When you pull the pieces out of the Yukon, make sure you get all the trim pieces, bolts and other...
The tires are another example. They went through many many tires and yet never changed the shocks or struts Even when the symptoms clearly pointed to the shocks and struts playing a role in the cupping on the tires
The alternator is a good example they put in 13 batteries into this vehicle and not once checked the alternator. I have not checked it yet but I'm probably going to change it soon
The records said they reinstalled the old pump. I have no idea why they would pull an engine with those hours (probably 13K hours at that point) and reinstall the old pump. They seem to be making short sighted decisions. The records show they repeatedly threw parts at issues without trying to...
Now I need to fix the damage they did to the paint when they scraped off the decals. It looks like they hired drunk monkeys. Considering painting the doors black to match if I am doing a paint job to fix the scratches.
Update on the Police Tahoe. I have been fighting with the city for the maintenance records. Finally obtained them through an open records request (and a nudge from our AG).
Really glad I waited until I received them to pull the trigger. 95 pages of records. The city spent $50K on this...
