What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I had mine turned off a few weeks after I got my Yukon, 94k miles ago. I've never once thought about turning it back on (not that I could if I did). If I ever buy another GMT900 with AFM, I'll immediately get it turned off. It's a no-brainer.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I can't remember the last automotive repair project I did where every part arrived correct, undamaged and on time. The supply chain has been a shambles since 2020, and doesn't seem to have completely recovered. Maybe it never will. I ordered a simple item from Home Depot and UPS couldn't even...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

What did I do? I drove my Yukon over the weekend... ...for the first time since 12/9/25, the day before I fell and ruptured my quad tendon. Now that I can bend my knee 90 degrees, I was able to just work the pedals with the seat all the way back and the pedals all the way forward. It was glorious!

Woodgrain ring separating from outter edge of steering wheel

Maybe a learning for others...cover the leather with masking tape beforehand to keep the glue off and make cleanup easier.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I plan to add a three-way this summer when I do some other wiring out there. I have to wait until I can climb a ladder. In the meantime, I installed a couple of battery motion lights beside the steps. I also extended, and more solidly mounted the handrail, just in case I remember to use it.

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Short answer: "I was stupid." Long answer: I was rushing to work with both arms full of stuff, walking down four steps into my garage. I didn't bother to turn on the garage light, since there isn't a 3-way on the opposite end to turn it back off. I caught the heel of my right foot on the nose...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

No pic. But I washed my Yukon for the first time since "The Fall" back in mid-December when I ruptured the quad tendon in my right leg. Surgery on Christmas eve. I'm finally able to hobble around well enough that my wife trusted me on a wet driveway, lol. Once I can bend my leg a little more...

Escalade/Esky Full LED 3rd Brake Light Conversion

I've had issues with my aftermarket headlights. I run the LED bar ones in my sig. Because they plug into the OEM light socket harness, they have an internal wiring harness to connect the various bulbs in the headlight assemblies. In my experience these are the weak point. They use cheap...

Escalade/Esky Full LED 3rd Brake Light Conversion

The aftermarket spoilers don't hold up over time. I bought the Eagle Eye one from eBay, and it warped after about a year. Also, the rubber weatherstrip flap that is supposed to seal against the body at the top wouldn't stay seated, and kept working loose. I ended up finding an OEM escalade...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I've been running a catch can for 4 years. I empty it at every oil change (5k miles roughly 4-5 times a year). In the summer months, the fluid in the can looks like dirty oil. In the winter months, it looks like Yoohoo (chocolate milk). I assume this is condensate from sitting overnight...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

The calipers need to be centered laterally on the rotor, because they're rigidly bolted onto the spindle and don't slide to compensate for alignment or pad wear. The only way to know for sure how thick any spacers would be is to assemble and measure. I haven't installed these myself. But I'm...

Kbuskill's 2008 Burb LTZ "MOD" Thread

Could you use a brake line flaring tool to add a real flare to the metal line? I've done this on older cars where formed rubber hoses aren't available. I make metal bends, flare them, and splice them into straight sections of hose. It's typically low pressure, too, but gasoline, which you...

That's too good for them, lol. I was afraid the Chinese aftermarket lights I had would melt, so I used a heat gun instead of baking in the oven. It took a solid 45 minutes to get it open, and another hour to get most of that black crap off the pieces. I wouldn't complain if it actually sealed.

I bet that's an interesting story. How exactly did they do that? It's not illegal for them to buy out their competition.
