    Looking like my friend is going down the path of the rebuild. Does $4800 sound reasonable? Anything I should have him ask/include in the rebuild that would "bulletproof" this transmission. What brand of torque converter should put in? I assume putting a GM one back in is stupid.

    My Yukon with a 5.3L has started to have a squeak or squeal almost sounds like a chipmunk directly after I shut the engine down. Is this just normal cooling down of the internal parts or is it something more serious? Cannot seem to find exactly where it's coming from but it is definitely forward...

    Does any one here have any experience with the Dorman transmission pans with the drain plug? Looks like a good deal at $80 with filter and gasket. Just no experience with this brand, was wondering if this sounded like a good plan. Thanks in advance.

    What oil are we running?

    What are our thoughts about Valvoline Restore and Protect vs. Amsoil? Seems to be differing opinions about the two oils and which is better for these engines. Looking for some cleaning capability from the oil. Or is it better to just use a FI cleaner? if so what do you recommend?
