Here is my update:
I installed the 5100's, both front and rear, at 115,000 miles on 12/20/2022. It is currently at 147,000. This is now our 3rd vehicle as I purchased a Sierra in 12/30/2024. In 2023 and 2024, I towed a "light" trailer with total weight including cargo about 1,500lbs on I-70...
Hi everyone,
I thought I was going to sell my Yukon but decided to keep it after I purchased a new Sierra. I would like to convert the Yukon to my "off-road" or play rig. No, I will nto be doing rock crawling and such, just looking to change things up. Think rough forest service/BLM roads to...
Agreed. 80 mph is usually reserved for the high planes of western Colorado and eastern Utah where the speed limit is 80. I know this does not mean you must drive 80 or so. The problem is during an assent if momentum is not kept, speed drops fast and RPMs increase drastically. I am not used...
Towing weight is light. Maybe 1,500 lbs with the fully loaded 150 qt cooler. On day trips with limited gear and ice, 1,20 lbs at the most. These include the trailer at about 850 lbs.
Thanks. I have the 3.73 but with such a light weight, how much is it affecting the engine and transmission on flat roads? I also thought I read something that the tow mode only activates when you are at 75% or so of max capactity. Can you elaborate ont eh "change Both ASAP? Change what...
Hi everyone. I purchased a raft last year and I have a question about towing. As you will see from my question, I am inexperienced in this area. We live near Denver and head to western Colorado and Utah frequently. Because of this, we go up and over a lot of steep, long inclines on I-70 and...
Sorry, I missed the "Not" past of the statement. I have NOT noticed the smell again. My guess it was some antifreeze or othe fluid from the exhaust or another part.
Quick update. I have not been on a long-distance drive since this post, however, just some 30 min type around town driving has not reproduced the smell. Crossing my fingers it was some antifreeze or other substance that burned off.
My 2008, 130,000 miles, is producing a slight burning-like smell. The strange to me part is it is not noticeable to me from the engine area but in the middle of the rig. I did have the radiator flushed the other day, along with new upper and lower control arms on both front sides. The...
Unfortunately, Dodge/Jeep (what ever they call themselves now) and Ford are all having their own issues. My buddies 2020 F 150 needs a new cam phaser at $7,500.
Great timing. I have been looking at different options if my 2008 (original owner) 130,000 miles needs a major repair. I have been thinking about a truck and looking at F 150 and Sierra's. We purchased a raft last year and tow 300+ miles a half dozen times a year. The trailer and gear are...
