I wouldn't engage the parts cannon quite yet
my suggestions
- test the current state of the battery, it is fully charged or is it discharged (if isn't low, either it isn't being charged or some draw is pulling it down)
- test the alternator, is it outputting as intended
my guess is that that...
I have a 2007 Tahoe (4x4) with the 5.3; it's on tracks, use it on the lakes in the winter.
It started having low oil pressure, when hot, at idle.
Verified it wasn't the sensor via manual gauge.
I left the oil pan on (4x4 so it's a pain to drop it). Instead, I went through the front cover...
Wife has a '21 with 48k on it.
I spent the last week in it on a large road trip.
I noticed that 'at times' the oil pressure was below 30psi at highway speeds, at other times it was running a fair a bit higher. I don't recall this ever being a thing. Also, after it had been running for a...
my gmc compliant is the 'passive' entry
Why oh why does a gm require you to press a button to get the door open? Hasn't any of those GM designers ever driven an FCA product, since like 2011?
follow the dash; unless changing it early makes you feal better, it's your money
how I got my opinion,
Find a large fleet, find the Operations Director, ask them how they handle their oil changes for the 100k so vehicles they have. I have yet to find one that is doing early oil changes. The...
Last weekend, put the boat (621 Ranger) behind the wife's denali xl and headed to a lake about 200 miles away (~400 miles round trip).
Near a full tank of fuel and near a full tank of def [didn't need fuel for the trip, entire trip on the tank we started with]
Down the interstate we go
within...
This part is 100% dealer dependent and nothing to-do with the brands
I've spent time working in both Chevy and GMC dealers; they are the same, the difference is how they are operated.
so...
she already doesn't like the performance of the 5.3 and your thinking 3.0
going from a TRX to a 3.0 is a significant step down in regard to pep
my daily is an RHO, wife's daily is a Denali xl with the 3.0; night and day difference when I switch between them
she isn't like to like the 3.0
We have both a 3.0 and a 6.2 in Denali xl's
3.0 gets better mileage, that's the only benefit, if the mileage wasn't so much better no reason to buy one
6.2 has more power (more noticeable at interstate speeds) and is quieter (mostly noticeable at idle)
the gm 3.0 is way better with short trips...
