I have an ask to build another tracked tahoe, but the client doesn't want the vehicle lifted (at all). If possible they would like the vehicle lowered but still clear the tracks.
On a previous jeep xj I built for tracks I pushed the rear axle back via axle perches. The extension of the rear...
Did you drop the pan or replace the o-ring via taking off the oil pump? If you did the o-ring without dropping the pan how difficult was it to get the bolt out of the pickup tube and then replace it?
I'm guessing that I have a pair of issues concerning the oil pressure:
1) low oil pressure of 25psi at idle
2) intermittent oil pressure drop which then comes back to normal
I'm thinking I'll do the following:
- manual gauge to verify dash is reasonable (I'll probably not see it drop low during...
The first battery was fully charged prior to the issue (as well as the swapped battery); additionally they were enough to start the engine. Not sure how bad batteries could start an engine then pull enough off the alternator to indicate below 9 volts then work normally (take a charge, indicate...
Service charging system message on dash, volt gauge on dash dropped to 12volt then continued to decline to 9volt (verified via multimeter), dash went dark then the engine quit. Swapped battery; voltage started at 12 then declined to 9 and quit. Used jump pack; engine restarted, voltage was...
2008 Tahoe LTZ, 217k on tracks; was up on Lake Winnipeg last weekend.
I don't have a lot of time in this rig, bought the Tahoe and installed the lift / tracks right away, maybe 100 miles on it.
First issue:
Noticed that the oil pressure was staying about 25 psi. Seems to be a candidate for...
in my situation there wasn't an error code
call corporate, tell them you have exhaust smell in the cabin, tell them you are worried about your passengers getting sick
no one wants a safety issue on their hands; exhaust in the cabin is a big issue
totally hear yah
We have a ram baby diesel and a gm baby diesel; they both have enjoyed their respective dealer shops more than I'd prefer. (they are battling it out as to who has been in the shop the most, Ram is ahead at the moment but the denali has been gaining momentum)
I do enjoy the...
it is an absolute bummer to have issues when you buy a different vehicle; totally get it
We've had a few denali's / slt's / escalades; across all of them I think I've done 1 water pump and 1 set of magnaride shocks and a pile of tires, never had flat spots occur tho.
Wife's '21 denali has loud...
The 'professional' part is having to remove a support brace to get the battery out.
No special tools, no telling the computer it has a new battery, it's 1/2 a step more difficult then not having the brace in the way.
If GM believes this is a 'professional' only operation; I can only imagine how...
will whomever was disagreeing with me in a different thread and was claiming how simple / reliable and not expensive the LM2 is please chime in and talk about how the above is simple / reliable / cheaper then a thermostat :)
What do you mean by 'started to overheat'?
What temp did it get to? Did it push coolant? Does hvac heat work?
A wild guess... it's low on coolant and behaving poorly.
I believe the '21s have 5/100k powertrain on the diesels.
My wife's '21 had a leaking exhaust issue, their is a tsb for that. If you search for posts under my account one of them has a link to the tsb on that topic. "I think" it was specifically around a weld on the flange for the turbo.
