annoying noise
I had a bad bearing in an alternator that sounded like that. Alternator worked just fine just noisy. I found it as stated above...with a stethoscope .- Seamus

10L80 - filled transmission at wrong temp???
IDK if it was you maybe just bad luck on that one. My tech friend said they dont get crazy with the temp when they do a filter and fluid. Just start, warm and overflow then cap it off he said. He also said he changes his every 30-40K.- Seamus

It disables the time out feature GM added. It will run till you run out of fuel. You sign a waiver and acknowledge you assume liability of disabling it. You also pay the dealer to do it, its not free.- Seamus

When you first hit the starter button.......hold it after it starts till the message appears. It take a bit. Dont hit the button and come off, stay on the button till it appears. It does not keep it running, it just gets you a longer timeout. The real fix is a TSB at the dealer at your expense...- Seamus

This is a very common known issue. They try to get it done with a flush but that only works for half the people. There is no flushing a TC. The issue is the torque converter. 2018-2020 Escalade and Denali with 6.2 and 10 speed is the best you can do in this generation. Each other year has its own set of issues some of which can be avoided in the 2018-2020 6.2- Seamus

Holding the start button till you see the message is the best you can do, and it only gets you 30 minutes. We went cross country and I set the timer on my iPhone whenever we left the dog. My dealer said the exact same thing. Never had a bad 10 speed behind a gas motor. All they have ever done is fluid and filters. This is a very busy dealer doing tons of warranty work. They had over 7 new trucks in there with lifters and bottom ends just the day I was there. Warned me not to buy...- Seamus

I was just at the dealer regarding a coolant leak. I happened to speak with the tech who did my friends 2020 10 speed. His is a 3.0 Duramax.
