I checked if there was an easy unclip cable running into the back of the brake controller but it seems to be hard wired in, I’ve had the fuse removed so no power is going to the brake controller but the car still chirps.
I’ve clicked the onstar button and it definitely starts to talk about some...
How could I find out if it is OnStar? This could be totally possible. Maybe the onstar antenna is tripping up and making a chirp? The only thing is sometimes it chirps when letting off the brakes, so does onstar have some tracking or monitoring system on something related with the braking...
The sound is definitely not coming from the door speakers. I can’t get an exact location on where the chirp is coming from because it usually comes on when driving.
For the under the dash photos I tried to keep the brake pedal visible as a reference point. Maybe someone can compare there wire...
[Update] I put new front shocks in the Tahoe because they were leaking and in my mind I was hoping this would help fix this chirp issue because maybe there is an alert system that tells you when your shocks are going bad but nope.
I found a forum with multiple people explaining the exact...
I’ve had it unplugged for a couple of days now and the car still chirps. This is the only aftermarket item on this car so I believe it must be a chirp for something malfunctioning or maybe a ground wire making something mess up.
The chirp definitely happens in relation to me pressing on the...
Thank you! I’ll take that fuse out and come back in a couple of days to tell you guys if this fixes the problem. If this doesn’t fix it I guess I’ll keep troubleshooting.
I need my car to be fully functional for a couple days before I tackle this I’ll let you know in a couple days of what I find.
In the meantime I have trailer brakes on my car or atleast I think that’s what this box is. Should I turn it off to see if it’s the problem I’ve never questioned its...
I got the car back in 2004 when it had 300 or so miles on it. The dealership owner was using it and then decided to sell it. I haven’t added anything aftermarket to it
Where should I look to find something aftermarket that maybe the original dealer put on it?
The sound is definitely a constant sound, I’ve found out it even chirps when the car is off and the keys are out of the ignition, it only chirps around 6 times, once every minute and then goes away for around 20 minutes then comes back and repeats. I checked the hvac and other fuses with a volt...
I don’t have anything connected or installed on the OBD port I only occasionally connect a code reader to check if I have an engine light. My Tahoe does have trailer brakes I’m not sure if this information helps but I’ll try my best to tell you everything my car is equipped with so I can find...
I’ve had the car since new I haven’t messed with the fuses or anything like that, it’s definitely electronic it comes from the drivers side speaker and happens even if the radio is off. I get my car serviced often but my mechanic can’t find out what it’s coming from so I thought I’d ask around...
My 2004 Chevy Tahoe LT, I’ve yet to add anything that isn’t stock to this car. Lately I have noticed a random chirping sound coming from under the drivers side of the dash. It is very random as it will not happen on my short commute home from work, but maybe a commute across town. Sometimes it...
