Just a quick question looking for the most common reason for this. What causes a random misfire on a 6.0 engine. I’ve had this for 3 years and it’s always throw a random misfire code but never a certain cylinder. Hasn’t done it now in over a month. Just curious as to why.
Thanks Rod
Quick update, been almost 3 full weeks and it hasn’t gone into limp mode one time. Hell I don’t even have a check engine light on in all that time. Now the plugging and unplugging of the TPS makes no sense because at least a year ago I replaced the pigtail with a new connector and last year I...
Thought I would update where I’m at with the Yukon. I decided to head to local you pull salvage and see if I could find a throttle body to switch out. No luck as all the Yukons there (6 of them) they all were 5.3L. I pulled my connector on my throttle body before I left to make sure the old...
Fless, you’ve got me on that one. Don’t tell my son I misspelled it as he’s a teacher and always on me about misspelling when I’m typing. Lol.
Mine is a 6.0 not the 5.3. That’s one of the reasons I’d like to keep this vehicle as when it’s running it’s got plenty of power and runs great.
LsHart...
What is the correct relearn process I should follow. I followed one when I did the new peddle switch but it never showed that it accepted. I don’t recall exactly what I did but if I remember I should have gotten some type of light verification so I never thought it completed.
SO heres an update on my Yukon. Im still looking for answers! lol
Im still dealing with my limp mode issue.
Heres what I have been able to do since my last post. I have cleaned the throttle body and also disabled the ABS by removing the 60 Amp fuse. I bought a better scanner and I know its not...
Sorry I haven’t gotten back to this topic.
This vehicle is not worth spending a lot of money on it. It has many problems that had been left go and not corrected before I bought it. I need to get to the end of May with it and then I have decided to sell it.
I currently use it to pull my...
That’s not correct. I’ve set codes for o2 sensors and no t/c light also has multiple misfire once in a while with no t/c code or not go into limp mode.
Have I taken it to a shop, no I haven’t because I want to work on it myself. I spent 20 years as a mechanic before retiring from that line of work 15 years ago.
yes I’m still here. It is electronic signal throttle. I’ve replaced, the throttle position sensor (TPS), and the throttle actuator...
I have had this 2003 Yukon for 2 years now. This has been an issue from the day I bought it. I can be driving along and the traction control light will come on and I go into limp mode. It can be at 55 mph or 15 mph. Sometimes it will go weeks without this happening and other times it may happen...
Forgot to mention a few things. First I was able to get in touch with the guy I bought this from last May. He told me he had replaced the throttle body with a new one about a year before that. Someone had already replaced the connector and they thought that would cure it but it’s apparent it did...
I would be interested in seeing that bulletin as well.
Today I replaced all 4, 02 sensors. Hoping that will take care of the 0420 cat code.
I then took the plug I got at the salvage yard and spliced it into the harness for the throttle body.
Also went and got 8 AC Delco spark plugs and...
I have a 2003 Yukon Denali with a 6.0. There I a plug for the wiring harness that pushes in the front corner of the throttle body. About every 100 miles or so while driving my traction control light will come on and I loss all power. The vehicle goes into creep mode. I will pull over, shut off...
