I had a similar issue:
CLIFFS: Bad idle? Check your throttle body for nasty build up and clean it before you waste too much time and money fixing other things.
I haven't done one on the Tahoe but it is a big job. Transmission needs to be dropped along with most of the other drive line parts. Id say at least a full day in the shop, probably longer. Can't even venture a guess on the $$$$
Just a bump, I ended up putting a switch on the power lead to the PXDP to power the unit off when the kids want to watch a movie. Working just fine but still a pain in the ass that their "tech support" couldn't help me.
I debated trimming the secondary latch but after it was cleaned and greased it worked as it should. Since I put new tires on last year and haven't needed the spare since I bought the truck 2 years ago the likelihood of me needing it is pretty low. Plus since I now know the "trick" to getting...
Thanks for the info and the video. I struggled for about an hour to get it down until I found this post. I've cleaned and greased the mechanism up and it seems to be working now.
I picked up a an iSimple Soundbyte (PXDP) about 2 weeks ago and hooked it up. Works nicely but now the rear seat DVD player (RSE) sound is seriously attenuated. Called their tech support number and they said "it should work fine". Tried 3 different settings but still no fix. Anyone have a...
If the 8th digit is a Z then you have a 5.3L flex fuel truck. 79% of 03 Tahoes and 70+% of 5.3 Yukons have the flex fuel engine so if you are a gambling man I'd say the odds are with you.
Look at your glove box for the RPO codes. Or get your VIN and put in in this site: http://www.compnine.com/vid.php and it will tell you which rear you have.
Not sure on the 4.8 but the 5.3 flex fuel "requires" a special tool. I couldn't get anything else to work.

If you have air in the ABS module (not the master) the only way to bleed it is to use a Tech II. You can try the poor mans method of just driving and hitting the brakes to activate the ABS but it will take several tries.
Do you mean upgrading to the Iphone 4 hardware or upgrading the OS to iOS 4 (like a 3g running iOS4)
FYI: I have the iSimple Soundbyte and the iOS 4 did not impact its performance.
I don't trust folks to do things right or I might have not done it myself. In reality its not that bad. My difficulties were that I didn't know enough about the truck (rear diff, transfer case) to get the right fluids the first time. And avoided the 15 mile round trip back to the autoparts...
