So i might as well give this some closure.
It was the stupid key fob. Not the battery in the fob, the fob was malfunctioning.
Apparently, the fob went schitzo and whenever it was in range of the truck, it would constantly unlock the doors.. including when the fob was in the truck and driving...
Touché , touché .. all valid
But see how you just said you would have advised OP with their best interest in mind, i guess that was kind of my point, is that if you’re not mechanically inclined either learn to be, or make friends with someone who is lol. If those are not options then yea, i...
I foresee a big mess ahead..
hopefully the 6.2 owners will get some justice for GM’s poor business practices.. but it looks like it’s going to be more of a burden on the owners than anything else
Let’s see how this plays out
except that is is not common sense, it’s cynicism
Using your philosophy, a vehicle owner would be spared the rod on mechanic expenses but then “bent over the log” from the finance company AND the insurance company….
Fact is, Vehicle ownership is costly, regardless if your car is new/old...
Let me get this straight.. the dealer told you that you needed to go and get the cats cut off… It’s interesting how everyone is glossing over the fact that this dealership has advised their customer to do something illegal .. even if your state doesn’t smog test it’s still illegal to straight...

by ears are you referring to the thumbwheel? The only difference is that’s an old school design. Most ignition cylinders do not have that any more ( hell most vehicles don’t have an ignition cylinder anymore period).
You could source another cylinder that has the thumbwheel, it still may be...
carabiners for the win. Clip what is necessary on, clip what isn’t necessary off.. also easy to remove keys that need to be used without having to turn the truck off.
Sorry for the double post i thought it would auto-merge
Copper wire of any gauge should not be corroding and oxidizing to the point of failure after 15 or 20 years when not severed in a properly insulated jacket. There is a bigger problem with the design and/or quality of the oem cables GM used for this generation.
Like a rock used to be chevy’s tagline right. . . Rock solid.. interesting
well it’s a 90’s style logo if i ever seen one, and if it was on the truck when you bought it (new) 30 years ago then it was applied by the dealership as their own little flare
If the dealership that sold it still...
