What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Thanks! Very nice idea with the separate fuel tank with the filling point next to the regular gas cap! We hit -31 Fahrenheit yesterday morning so long story short I didn't even bother to try and start the car (or go outside for that matter). Today is better at -11F but still, cold starts are a...

Dang I miss having a heated steering wheel. Anyhow the kit looks something like this, and is available for a couple hundred since the patent ran out. It's basically a water heater that you connect to cooling lines that draws fuel from your gas tank. Remote controlled and very efficient for...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Been scrounging the net for someone who did a DIY "Webasto" aka "Ebersprächer" or in normal language mounted a fuel based heater on one of these things for easing up cold starts and made the compartment livable. The kits are dirt cheap and would certainly add a lot of value for winter use...

    Heater Core Lines

Irrelevant but I thought I'd share my current condition with these tees as a comparison or whatever. Got new ones already, will swap once I get to the coolant swap. But yeah these things burn off over time.

Back from my biggest haul so far. This time I lugged around 3.8k lbs on a 1.2k lbs trailer while stacking an extra 500lbs in the trunk. Warehouse dudes were absolutely awesome letting me chop the second box into pieces behind the warehouse (since I knew it was full of smaller boxes and more...

Friend's Esky throws EVAP related codes.

Just an acquaintance from whom I've bought some kickass second hand parts having a bit of trouble with his Escalade. Says he's trying to figure out an EVAP problem. Has apparently swapped topcover gaskets, gas cap and one evap hose. Says the computer asks him to "tighten his gas cap" followed by...

My new favourite tool for that is *drumroll* an old toothbrush. Just blasting compressed air didn't seem to do much, especially with a bit of moisture in there.

Solid recommend from me as well, these things solve a lot of headaches

Left turn at a crossroad (without roadlights) sorry This thing picks up speed something fierce, allowing me to slip in between cars going full speed in no time. Anyways today I was casually picking haybales out in the fields with my "luxury SUV", feels right at home in that element as well.

Am I out of line if I say what I enjoy the absolute most about this truck (apart from doing a left crossway turn from standstill) is leaving the house/store/whatever, pressing a button on a remote inside my pocket and the rear hatch opening by itself? It keeps getting more satisfying every time...

I'm going from recommending Temu volume knob replacements into jumping head first into a concrete pool that may or may not be filled with liquid that may or may not be water. Will make a short review of whatever arrives and if it will improve current ride quality and for how long. (yes that...

How to Make it to 500k Miles?

Props for taking care of your wife's car. I have a weird mental block for it since it's a Compass and I don't want anything to do with it. I change the engine oil and replace the wipers, waiting for that CVT to just give in. Funny thing is she hates it too, traded a scrappable Avenger for it...

How to Make it to 500k Miles?

There is a famous old philosophical riddle about a captain and his ship, swapping planks one by one as they rot, until one day decades later, every single part of the ship has been replaced. Was it still the same ship or a different one? Answer is up for interpretation but I like to believe any...

That's an interesting blade! There's also a hook type of blade that could work pretty well for this purpose. Or just get a separate roof felt knife; fixed hawkbill style knife that's good for tracing cuts, but those are also getting pretty rare for whatever reason.

How to Make it to 500k Miles?

A spare engine and transmission ready to pop in whenever it's time rather than to wait and hope for a potential problem to subside. In other words a donor vehicle. It's usually quite a popular choice for anyone keeping a vehicle alive past 300k miles/20 years regardless of brand. Imagine the...
