Hi people!!!
Been some time since last post here!
Had to replace broken parking brake cable that snapped while testing just before I was going for MA state RMV annual inspection...
Not that interesting of a pic, so I'll skip the photo of new cable.
Good news... 20 years and over 222,000...
Long time no post! New job with agency take home vehicle and very crazy summer with work, so nit much time either the Tahoe and a few short trips cross-town.
Time for annual safety inspection... fail. Upper ball joint was bad.
Upper control arm bolts would not budge with hammer, so I went and...
Depending on the cluster feels on any given day, I just count how many notches I move the lever...
1 Down for reverse
2 more down to Drive
3 back up to Park
I don't even look anymore... Kind of like shifting a manual! LOL
The side-to-top adapter clamps were from O'Reilly. Can't recall the brand, but it is entirely possible the quality control on the molded lead was not 100%... Could have been a miscast before the bolt holes were threaded. I recall wanting to make them good and tight so I have no issues.
I gave...
Call tech. support at Crutchfield. They will tell what would work and what wouldn't.
You may be able to get away with a chime/SWC add-in module and maybe new harness connectors.
Not sure if the head unit would need programming with Tech 2 still or not...
Start with Crutchfield before going off...
I went with a "good-enough-for-me" radio. Not that it would be hard to cut a metal brace, but it was nice not having to do that with my Boss Audio Elite. It did not go deep enough to require cutting. It was about 12 F and night time. Cutting the dash brace would have spilled some blood for sure!
Could also change over the ring connector to the "normal" kind on the ends of the cables... Or get new cables... Ooops, here we are spending other peoples' money!
Military-style clamps like these actually provide more solid backing for multiple accessory cable connections... The fat block on the accessory side of the clamp won't cave in on you. Something like these would be much better.
I would do these on top. You can also swap out longer bolts, if you...
I got an Optima Red Top from NAPA three years ago and very happy with it.
It was only 18 months old when I had to sell the Jeep I had originally installed this in, so I got top-post adapter clamps. Maybe not ideal setup, but the battery has been 100% solid for three years so far, even in the...
Should be a sticker inside the door jam on the driver's side with pressures for tires that were stock sizes for the truck. 32 would be correct for the stock size of 265/70 R17 LT tires. You can go a little softer in winter or trail riding, but somewhere close to the 32 (+/- a pound or two) would...
Mine are dirty and maybe slightly faded from age! Don't hate... Finding time for interior vacuuming has been tough.
Anyway, a PO got Husky Liners. They fit great, don't slide around.
I think the color fits pretty good, IMHO. They do look a little better when nice and clean.
They may have faded...
