Here ya go. They used four rolls of this + silicone adhesive:

You can see the new, second surround around the outer edge of the factory seal. Between that and the Soundskins in the door panels, I cannot believe the improvement all aorund. Truly shocking.
Had my custom shop add a double-layer of SoundSkins to all four door panels, underneath the floor carpet and a second rubber gasket to all the door and window surrounds on my ESV. The improvement is SHOCKING.
On the decibel meter, the truck now runs at an average of 64 db at 70 mph. Based on...
Just got back my Escalade ESV - passed the test, new cap, new 0w40 oil. The dealer left a service reminder sticker on the windshield saying the next oil change is in 10,000 miles. Can this be right?
I have a dashcam on the passenger's side by the mirror module and recently bought a CoverCraft shade. I wound up cutting out a notch for the camera and it's been totally fine.
Same story for me. Was at Cadillac this morning and they said there was no remedy for my VIN even though I received the notification via the app. This is INCREDIBLY frustrating the way this is being managed.
Is it just me, or is the oil inspection a red herring? From what I’ve seen of the engine teardowns videos, you really need to be able to open the crankshaft to see the signs of wear.

Given that GM appears to have modified and updated the recall status several times now, it's becoming a bit confusing to know which end is up. Would any of you more qualified guys mind providing an update on the latest developments, and what we should be expecting/demanding from our dealers if...
My son has his learners permit and is eager to get as much drive time as possible. I’m increasingly uncomfortable with the idea of him behind the wheel of an L87-powered vehicle right now. Is this valid or an overreaction on my part?
Ok this appears to be a major development:
The “replace all engines built before a certain date” bulletin is now on the NHTSA website. Looks real, and looks like the oil change fix is no more.
