    2005 Tahoe Ls stalling

Truck stalled while driving today, luckily I got it into a park lot with momentum before I had to stop. Won't restart, no engine light. Nothing visibly wrong, cranks, won't start. Making some weird sounds like it half starts then immediately dies. Can't figure out so I call AAA. Waiting around...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

My Ivory dealer was backlogged so I had to go with the ‘hammered’ faux finish.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Exhaust manifold leak part 2. Unbolted the manifold again to try to see why its leaking from the gasket. Got a straight edge and checked to see if I had warpage. Found some corrosion that was giving me a gap. Doesn't look like much but it was enough to give me the leak. A little...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

So here I was patting myself on the back for getting all those exhaust manifold bolts out and putting in the new ones, and today I found that I am leaking from the manifold right at the gasket. All the new bolts went in smooth so I know I am not cross-threaded, and I all the bolts are torqued...

Yeah I was joyed when they started to turn without breaking off. There's that moment when you start to torque it and its either going to turn or snap off. Super happy I got them out. I failed on the driver side though, left one bolt in the head and used the dorman clamp.

Tackled the exhaust manifold bolts on the passenger side today. First and last were broken. Took off all the spark plug wires. Fully unbolted the manifold and would have taken it all the way out but apparently the oil dipstick is laced through it. Thought about pulling out the dipstick but when...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Put the Dorman cheater clamp on to secure that rearmost part of the exhaust manifold. Was a b*tch to get in, went from underneath and put a bend in one of my wrenches to get it tightened. But seems like it worked and haven't heard the ticking since. Gotta say having a few crappy wrenches...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Heard an intermittent tapping noise so first thing I did was check the exhaust manifold bolts. 3 are missing heads. Driver side rear-most, and passenger side first and rear-most. Tackled the driver side today, got a felpro gasket and the ARP bolts. the 5 intact bolts came out fairly easy (I did...

LED Brake Light Bulbs Will Disable Cruise Control on GMT800

So I been running "painfully bright" LEDs on all my exterior lamps, headlights, brights, fogs, DRLs, brakes, turns, reverse, etc. The interior bulbs have been replaced with LEDs as well, but not bright whites, inside I went for 'Pimp Purple'. Anyways, I been running this setup for over a year...

    Something new to l-u-s-t after

When I got the chance to grab an 06 cluster I took it, and I did it for exactly this reason. I hate the lcd prndl display, the clean LED indicators are much nicer. Those leds are integrated into the pcb, so changing them out for a different color is not simple, like changing out gauge bulbs.

New user and new to Tahoe Ownership / Very reactive steering

+1 vote for checking the alignment, I had this behavior and my alignment was toe-out. This also including having some wandering at highway speeds.

GMT800 Loose Steering Fix No One Has Mentioned here or Net - Ten Minutes, NO $$$

Heyyyooooo!! I did this today and my steering got better! I got about a half rotation on one and a full rotation on another. The only time I worry about my steering is on the highway doing 70-80. Sometimes the wind can push me around more than I like. Took it out today in high winds at 80...

    Question About Idler Arm

I did the idler arm + pulley as well as the pitman arm at the same time and I didn't find the pitman arm to be that difficult. The trick was to loosen the gearbox bolts (just loosen, not remove), to give the pitman arm enough clearance to get the pitman arm puller tool on. Here is the kit I...

    Smell of gas…

This is the way. Also drop the spare tire to give yourself more room. And you can get a little siphon pump very cheap.

    Smell of gas…

I did it myself. It's feels more daunting than it is. I watched a couple videos of someone dropping the tank and then went and did it. Honestly wasn't too hard. Once out replacing the pump is not hard.
