Engine choice for new Yukon XL Denali (best reliability for next 3 years)
The 5.3L has plenty of power. Drivability and towing... impression/feel... is not the issue. Very few of us are towing a 8k lb trailer with an SUV. If you are towing something that heavy, you'd be better off with a 5th wheel hitch on a pickup. My 2021 has < 17k miles and has stranded me 3x...- killjoy

Driver DRL Stuck On - Illuminated Emblem TSB?
Follow up - Disconnected the emblem and wired the headlight back directly - issue fixed. I'll have to see what the warranty is on the emblem. -

Driver DRL Stuck On - Illuminated Emblem TSB?
2021 Yukon AT4 with 16k miles. Self-installed GM's GMC black illuminated grill emblem on Day 1. Everything has been fine until today. Walked out to my truck and noticed the driver side DRL was on. Car had been parked/off for hours, not remote started. Started it, drove it, parked... -

Update: Dealer called me this morning saying my truck was ready for pickup. They originally told me to expect 2-3 weeks. They got it back to me in 5 business days from the point of me towing it and dropping it there for service. They were apparently expecting a longer delay on backordered...- killjoy

Brand new 2021 Denali shuddering
FWIW, my '21 AT4 is at the dealer getting all 16 lifters replaced. IME, the rough idle was very noticeable at stop lights... meaning you coast up to the light and stop, and the engine is trembling to the point it sounds/feels like it's going to stall. Tach blipping down below 300 RPM at idle...- killjoy

Update: Dealer confirmed it is the lifter issue and is replacing all 16 under the TSB/Warranty. Hopefully picking up a loaner tomorrow as they said ETA is 2-3 weeks. Apparently there's more club members at my dealer who got in line before me. Looks like there is also an active recall related...- killjoy

2021 Tahoe 5.3 engine failure at 4,800 miles
DangIt - Did GM replace all lifters and pushrods on both sides for you? My '21 AT4 just started doing the same thing. Need to call the dealer in the morning. Was hoping there's a TSB or something I can refer to.- killjoy

'21 Escalade, easy. :) Seriously, I would go with '21. I had a '16 Yukon and while I liked the truck, the '21s have so much new tech, I'd go that way for the same money.- killjoy

Build Times on 2021 Yukons
Guys - Just be aware that when ordering a vehicle, both the Dealer and GM have roles in that process. GM allocates a certain # of orders per month per dealer that will get fulfilled based on their manufacturing capacity, the size of the Dealer, etc. Obviously, capacity is lower at the moment...- killjoy

Illuminated Grille Emblem and Puddle Light Install Step by Step

Auto Stop Function
Biggest problem with the auto stop/start is it wasn't designed for 2 foot'd drivers. Engine doesn't restart until your foot is completely off the brake pedal. I find I hit the gas sooner than the engine is fully restarted and ready go, causing a concerning powertrain bounce/chug in the engine...- killjoy

5.3 v 6.2 daily use and mpg
My advice to the OP is to decide if the 6.2L is worth $10k (+15% MSRP) more than the 5.3L, not to mention the need to fill up on Premium vs. Regular. I also am not a huge fan of all of the chrome bling on the Denali (YMMV), and would much rather have the AT4 look.. which the 6.2L isn't...- killjoy
