Don’t forget to flush your brake system - 3yrs or 45k

Just did my brake lines flush last weekend again, and the speed bleeders work great. My fluid is nowhere near as dark as your fluid when coming out. I do mine every two years which is about 36K miles for me.

PLEASE HELP - possible trans issue

Been there, done that. I was $5.7K installed after $300 GM rebate back in August 2022 at 121K miles.

2016 Yukon hesitation on acceleration - no codes

Same here. Just dropped $5700 today after rebate for a replacement transmission.

    Check Your Lug Nuts!

36 years of driving upwards of 1 million miles and never once crumpled massively. I have been hit multiple times in sedans by idiots in small and large vehicles, but I have always walked away without a hint of an injury. Defensive driving helps keep you safe. If you get hit by an 18 wheeler...

    Check Your Lug Nuts!

There is merit to the safety aspect. Just as long as you do not drive like an idiot, then you will be safe in an Accord and Civic. I find that the Honda Sense active safety features are much better than the safety features on the '15 Yukon. Also, it is much harder to haul down 6K lbs quickly...

    Check Your Lug Nuts!

Since the Yukon purchase, I have bought two new Honda sedans new off the lot. We have got an '18 Accord in '18, and a '22 Civic EX in '21, both North American car of the year from NACTOY in 2018 and 2022. They are both an amazing value. No issues on either ride really worth noting thus far...

    Check Your Lug Nuts!

I too am an engineer (Licensed Professional Engineer / Mechanical). I find that GM engineers do a miserable job often. I second guess their engineers all the time. They are pushing cost-out and cheap parts from overseas or Mexico to improve profits. I have had at least one GM product in my...

    Check Your Lug Nuts!

I stand corrected. My bad. I just checked the owner's manual, and it surely is 140 ft*lbs as you stated. I have been udertorquing my wheels by 25 ft*lbs for years, apparently. Thank you for setting me straight on that one. Never had an issue using 115 ft*lbs, but I will be sure to go home...

    Check Your Lug Nuts!

140 ft*lb sounds like a lot. I usually do 115 ft*lb on the 18" rims if I remember correctly. Must be a 22" thing. Smaller rim size is better. Extra un-sprung weight is the enemy of power delivery, ride quality and replacement tire cost. With the higher torques, you run the risk of rotor...

    Exhaust leak sound 2016 Suburban

I will have to keep an eye on this. I just had the vacuum pump done under the 150K mile warranty. I see exhaust being an issue in the future. I will check for this leak. I am looking for options on good cat-back systems. I am thinking Magnaflow.

    100K Mile Maintenance

There is no power steering fluid. I asked the dealer to do that one a while back when I was doing a recall, and they honestly informed me that it is electric. That was news to me. I like having no power steering fluid.

    Anyone upgrade their navigation?

I considered it, but it seems not worth the money. I always use google maps.

    TPMS Relearn 2015+

Haven't tried it, but I believe that it should work. I bought the tool immediately when I figured out the situation.

    Brake bleed issue

I always add the Russell speed bleeders to all my vehicles and swap the fluid every 24 months. No brake issues thus far after almost 100K miles. Fingers crossed. I will be adding new speed bleeders to our sedan in a month or so. It just turned two years old. It is still on lease, but I plan...

    Removed cross rails at dealer

I am just the opposite. I had to order new GM cross rails from eBay when I bought the Yukon. It did not have any when I got it. I like them for use of the large Thule cargo box on long trips and transporting the 10' Christmas tree every year (bring home and disposal).
