    Sounds like that's what I'll end up doing. Just hope nothing damaged in the engine requiring more repair dollars. Cam and lifters alone will be a couple thousand.....

    thanks @NickTransmissions or the reply. I just dropped it off at a local shop. At this point I am guessing it's the lifter and so will be looking at possibly cam and lifter replacement. Hoping it's not more significant than that. I'll let you know what I hear back. Thanks.

    Sorry I misused the term "rebuild" on the TEHCM. They did exactly what you pointed out - replaced the seals, diaphragms, and the filter screen. Rebuilt transmission with heavy duty converter, rebuilt pump and they installed an upgraded cooler bypass valve. All in the bill was $5433. They...
