I am glad to see the solution to the interference problem, got a console out of a 2010 Tahoe thinking it would drop right in wrong. It was hitting the cover and needed about an inch more so it would sit right on the studs. Removed my cover and it went right in. Thanks for the tip

It will not excite if you remove the positive wire from it, it has to have power to self excite. With no power going to it no power generation will take place so it should not burn itself up. I still think this is the culprit.
In my years of working on radios this sounds like a bad alternator, no noise suppression, undo all wires and make sure to insulate the positive wire then drive it and see the results
I purchased a 2010 Tahoe PPV and it was ordered with 9G8 SEO - Auto Headlamp Delete. I was wondering if anybody knows what this entailed and what it takes to get them back operating automatically. Any help appreciated
