I could read the ECM, but not write to it. Found out it was locked by a 3rd party while it was owned by the city I bought it from.
Just had the ECM replaced with new-blank GM E38 and now have full read/write access. Disabled AFM/DOD via HP tuners.
This should buy me time before I do a proper DOD...
I should call the public works dept. for the municipality I bought it from to confirm. Public works dept. did almost all the regular maintenance on it over the years.
I have (what I believe to be) a full service record history. The truck came with a 3" binder full of receipts for any/all work...

I'm the second owner of an '09 Tahoe PPV (bought from police auction) that just turned 160K and have been thinking about my options regarding AFM/DOD Delete Kit vs. AFM/DOD Disable. Since I have a PPV, the ECM is locked and I cannot disable the AFM/DOD via HP Tuners.
