    My tale of woe

Attend your ear to my tale of woe, car shopping back during the summer I did go. I bought a 2015 Escalade perfect and clean, low miles, two owners, long and lean. But what came next was quite a surprise, right after I purchased it it was found on a tow truck being towed by some nice guys. The...

    IS AFM DISABLEMENT NECESSARY??

I don’t. He took great care of the vehicle, and it had good service records from the dealer. I believe it sat too much in the last year, and that resulted in the issue. The oil hadn’t been changed in almost a year when I bought it, but that was because it had only been driven 300 miles in the...

    IS AFM DISABLEMENT NECESSARY??

You have asked a question that many have asked before. I’ve decided after 8 years of owning vehicles with the AFM that the question is unanswerable because no one can predict the future. I sold our 2011 Suburban with 160k miles and bought a newer Escalade trying to avoid lifter failure due to...

    Torque converter

The DOD delete is all the standard stuff…lifters, cam, trays, gaskets, etc. The vehicle has 82k miles on it. I think the converter itself is around $550, and the rest of the cost is in labor, fluid, etc. It sounds like the consensus is to do the converter while the tranny is still in good shape...

    Torque converter

Thanks! The dealer told me a few months ago that the tranny fluid looked great. Do you think it’s worth it to do the converter? He’s wanting $1300 installed.

    Torque converter

Hey everyone, I’m taking my wife’s 2015 Escalade in for a DOD delete next week. It has pretty bad lifter tick. The shop that’s doing it is recommending that I let them install a B&I torque converter while they’re working on the vehicle He said if they do that and retune my tranny it will...

How many miles are too many for you when you buy used?

You asked for opinions so here’s mine, which is worth nothing…2007 classic and older I’m personally comfortable at 250k or less, 2007+ I’m comfortable at 150k or less. I currently drive an 06, but my wife’s last two vehicles have been 07+ and both were purchased with around 70k on the clock. I...

    Negative battery cable - Escalade

Hello, our 2015 Escalade has been having intermittent issues. It appears that at some point while it’s sitting in the garage it runs out of juice and resets the clock and everything. It also will occasionally not start, and it looks like it’s not getting enough power. It will start fine after it...

    New ride

Hey, thanks! I think mine actually has the 6 speed. I heard some of the early builds had it. When it’s in manual mode it won’t go past 6th gear.

    How to eject a DVD

Just to tie this thread off…the dealer was able reset it somehow, and the eject button light is now illuminated, and it works fine. As for the engine trouble, turned out to be a fouled spark plug. All in all, didn’t end up being a terribly expensive endeavor. Could’ve been much worse.

    How to eject a DVD

Thanks, guys. I had planned to check it out this evening, but now the vehicle is in the shop due to a misfire and a flashing check engine light. Praying it’s not a collapsed lifter. I’ve had it less than a month!

    How to eject a DVD

See how mine isn’t lit up? I know what you guys are talking about, but I am asking if there’s some kind of trick that I’m missing because it won’t eject. The button is unresponsive, and I don’t see anyway to do it from the screen.

I’ll send it once I get back in front it.
