Often times the thermo actuator to lock the front hubs in the front axle goes bad. Symptoms include after shifting into 4x4 the light never lights up to notify you, and you don't have 4x4. The part can be had for $65 or so online here: AM-AutoParts.com. I paid $130 from a local part supply... -
Replacement Rear Springs
mine sits 1/2 inch higher in the front on the side without the broken spring and almost a full inch higher in teh front on the side with the broken spring. previous owner must have cranked the tbars. Also, if my 2nd message didn't clear things up I am planning on lifting the front of the truck...- iced98lx

Hey Folks looking for replacement rear springs, broke a leaf in one pack, now the truck sags a bit.. (sloppy floppy is no fun, afterall ;)) would like a 2-3 inch lift since I'm replacing them anyway.. what do you guys suggest??- iced98lx

Thanks guys i've finished both sides now and I'm VERY happy with the look, it's not perfect but it's a lot better than the rusty gold. (it took me a while to get the rust out on the passenger side..) I"m going to move on to my bumpers today I think and remove the chrome wheel arches and see how... -

Yea, just ditching the body side molding to me was a huge +++. I'm also removing the rust at the bottom of the doors as I go about doing this, so it's a double bonus, looks less old guy and gets rid of the rust. Want to take the chrome fender things off, afraid of what is under them... Might... -

The one i got was an "Astro Smart Eraser Pad" I got it at my local autobody supply place, they had a couple different brands. -
Ditched the pinstripes, body side moldings- the easy way
I struggled to get the body side moldings off my vette, now I know the easy way thanks to a parts desk guy: That is an Astro Pneumatic Tool Company Smart Eraser Pad... It's as cool and works just like it sounds, you erase pinstripes, adhesive and double faced tape in no time with it! Okay... -
Does anyone have two sets of wheels/tires for summer/winter use?
I'm not 100% but i'd check that again if I were you, are you sure the ABS and TC doesn't operate off speed sensors in the hubs? if so, there shouldn't be any issues.. Anyway, you don't need a techII to change things up, just a copy of HP Tuners, if you were nearby I'd take care of it for you :)
