Loud baffling and chugging noise when Cold Starting
This may or may not be major or even worth losing a second over sleep. But I cannot for the life of me understand why my 2012 Tahoe LT 5.3 sound like it’s cammed or if it has a performance exhaust. 2010 LT 5.3 V8 Flex Dying Randomly HELP!!
Not that it may be related to your issue but I had a brand new 2016 Sierra 5.3l and within months of owning it it did exactly as you described. Most likely a failed Chassis Control Module or Engine Control Module. Also have you changed the plugs lately?- htowntahoe

2011 GMC Yukon Denali makes a thump noise upon take-off
I have the same thing with my 2WD 12’ Tahoe, bought it used at 150k mi mo accidents, reg maintenance. Motor mount has been changed around 110k.
