    Kinked Nylon Fuel Line

Greetings from Chattanooga, TN, to my fellow Tahoe fans! I was hoping one of you guys can offer some advice on a problem I encountered while removing my gas tank. I noticed the nylon section of fuel hose from the pump to the fuel filter got bent and kinked when I dropped the tank to replace the...

Can't get tank out to replace fuel pump '96 Tahoe 4-door 4x4

AAAAAHHHHHRRRRRGGGGG!!!!! I've been wrestling around on my back underneath my truck for a couple of days now, trying to drop the gas tank so I can replace the fuel pump. It seems my Tahoe was built AROUND the fuel tank, because it won't come out. I've done just like the you-tube videos...

    Column Shifter

Hey Sam, if you install this part, lemme know how difficult it was to do, where you found instructions, and of course, whether or not it solved your problem. If I get to it first, I'll do the same for you... Steve '96 Tahoe LS 4dr, 4wd, auto., 182K mi. & '99 Tahoe LT 4dr, 4wd, auto., 232k mi...

    Column Shifter

RE: Column Shifter Hard to Move I posted a similar concern with my 1999 Tahoe a couple of days ago, and think I found the part needed to fix the problem. It's called the 'steering column shift control mechanism', and 1A Auto Parts has 'em for $106.95(aftermarket). Here's the description...

Column Mounted Shifter Hard to Move

I just purchased a used '99 Tahoe 4-dr with 232k miles on it. It has automatic transmission and push button 4WD. I noticed the column shifter is very hard to move out of and into "P", and fairly stiff through the rest of the gears as well. My '96 Tahoe doesn't have this problem. I'm worried that...

    spider injectors

Thanks Sunlit Comet, but as it's not leaking, I'm not replacing the lower intake manifold gaskets at this time. Will need some time to work up to that... Any idea how critical it will be if some of the crud I described previously winds up in the combustion chamber? ---------- Post added at...

    spider injectors

Hello from Chattanooga... I'm replacing my injector spider with the upgrade and finally have the old unit sitting on my work bench. My question is, what is the best way to get the gooey, gritty carbon build up out of the injector holes without pushing all that crud into the combustion chamber...

    5.0 / 5.7 Engine Torque Values

For those of you who don't "already have a complete engine manual"(thanks for the input, SunlitComet), the link below should prove very helpful in replacing your intake manifold gaskets and upgrading the f.i. spider. It includes four pages of all the torque specs and tightening sequence...

    Spider injector upgrade "how-to"

Greetings to all from Chattanooga! Sure could use a little help... I searched the technical page but couldn't find detailed, step-by-step, start to finish instructions on the spider injector upgrade(including fuel pressure regulator replacement). If such information is available I'd sure be...

    Hard to start

Traveling at 65 mph in my 1996 Tahoe 4x4 with 4L60E, 3:42 gears, cruise control turned on, a/c turned off, running 265-75-R16 Michelin tires @40psi, burning 87 octane 100% gas with NO ETHANOL in a bone-stock engine, I consistently get 20-21 mpg round trip between Chattanooga and Warm Springs...

    Hard to start

After my Tahoe sits for a few days, it takes 1/2 dozen attempts to start, sometimes more. When it finally does start, it does so in a halting, stumbling manner but smooths out pretty as you please in a few moments. I test drove with fuel gauge attached and found fuel pressure to be about 50-52...
