    Nashoba, Do you have independent hybrid shops in your area? I see a few in my area. I took a 2nd gen prius to one once and they said they also worked on HyHoe's. They could probably replace individual cells (cheaper alternative) or the entire battery. I'm sure they'd be cheaper than a GM...

    For comparison, I have a 2008 Tahoe Hybrid with 84k miles. I just got it back from the dealer. The hybrid battery needed to be replaced. I'm happy because the warranty on that is going to expire in December. IIRC, the battery changed in 2009. I'm hoping to see improved mpg's. Currently at 18.2...

    A 2008 Tahoe Hybrid is my wife's daily driver. She does probably 80% of her driving on city streets. MPG has been 18.2 on regular unleaded. But I'm in California and I'm pretty sure our gas sucks for power and mpg compared to the rest of the nation. If you do decide to get one, aim for a 2009-.

    Ah, that makes more sense to me, Decrow. I think I'd be able to get 25 mpg if i kept the truck at 65-70 mph. When I drive up to San Jose, I drive a little faster but usually keep it just under 80 mph. Seems like that is the upper limit where I can still get the truck into V4 mode from time to time.
