Mystery Slack/Play - Wheel hub? CV? Ball Joints? (2008 Yukon Denali)

Yeah, did all that. But I didn't think of re-torquing the spindle nut! I never thought of that. The 'play' might me the splined shaft knocking in and out and I can see that happening on both sides (and even on one side being felt on the other side). Never thought of that. That's fascinating...

Pickup tube question on 2007 GMC Yukon Denali 6.2

I had a similar dreaded low oil pressure event consistent with the bad O ring syndrome. I replaced the oil pressure sensor. Problem returned 3K miles later. No change other than a slight improvement. Every time I did an oil change, the problem went away until the oil had about 3k miles on it...

Mystery Slack/Play - Wheel hub? CV? Ball Joints? (2008 Yukon Denali)

I've got a mystery issue involving play in the front end. If the vehicle is on the ground and you grab the top of the front wheels (on both sides) and pull, you feel play and get and feel a 'clunk' like you would with a bad wheel hub and possibly a ball joint. Jack up the front end by the frame...

Door/warning chime/turn signal click no longer working - 2008 Yukon Denali

All stock - problem solved itself on its own by simply turning on the parking assist. If you turn it off, no warning sounds of any type will sound.

Door/warning chime/turn signal click no longer working - 2008 Yukon Denali

This is annoying - my warning chimes and the click sound for the blinkers are no longer working. I've check the speakers in the driver's side, had the module checked, checked the settings in the DIC, BCM, radio, wiring harnesses, etc., I couldn't find anything and the stealership (not a typo)...

Bizarre rear passenger window issue (I'll bet no one has had this happen) 2008 Yukon Denali

I figured this one out. It was actually a bad connection on one of the wires to the back door switch. Oddly enough, the sloppiness of the window disappeared after I fixed the damage wire connection. And, of course, after I bought a new window regulator. Naturally.

Bizarre rear passenger window issue (I'll bet no one has had this happen) 2008 Yukon Denali

The problem: The back passenger driver's side window goes up and down if you use the switch on driver's door. However, if you use the switch on the back passenger door, the window will go down, but not up. Upon further inspection, the window is loose in its stays, for lack of better words. That...

    P0442 (Small Evap Leak) Mystery

Mystery partially solved. After picking the brains of a couple of technicians and a few people who deal with automotive computers, we figured out the cause of the P0442 code was due to the method that is used to detect small leaks and it's almost ridiculous how the error is triggered when there...

    P0442 (Small Evap Leak) Mystery

I thought about that. It's not that expensive to do, doesn't take very long to do it, and it is about the only think I haven't tried to do yet. I'll have to give that a try. Can't do any harm at worst.

    P0442 (Small Evap Leak) Mystery

Yup, did that literally 30 times (no kidding) in the past year. Every one of them failed electrically or mechanically. 25 of them wouldn't hold vacuum for more than 3 minutes right out of the box. The other 5 failed because the plastic cracked from normal engine heat. In theory, you should be...

    P0442 (Small Evap Leak) Mystery

Did that. Purge valve has been replaced, no joke, 30 times this year alone because none of these OEM purge valve solenoids seem to hold vacuum for very long in service. Everything has been tested including pulling the parts and bench testing them. I'm beginning to think its crappy firmware...

    P0442 (Small Evap Leak) Mystery

All that was done. Everything was checked or replaced and it still throws the code. Like clockwork. I did talk to a couple of GM techs about this and they said that there is some kind of vacuum pump on the EVAP system that generates a slight 1 inch water's worth of vacuum and holds the system...

    P0442 (Small Evap Leak) Mystery

Everything has been replaced. New tank, filler neck, pump, pressure sensor, vent valve, charcoal canister, various solenoids, gas cap, vacuum lines, wiring harnesses, etc., and a whole list of things I haven't listed. All the same exact results. A perpetual P0442 code. You can fix it for about...
