    Remanufactured 5.3 source?

Our municipal shop is installing. The customer service from Jasper in Jacksonville was excellent.

    Remanufactured 5.3 source?

Just to follow up, I'm getting an engine from Jasper. It's somewhat local (1 hour away) and the customer service was awesome. I'm getting an AFM and VVT delete with a 3 year, 100k miles warranty. Since this is a fleet vehicle, I paid about $250 extra for the 3 years vs 18 months for fleet...

    Remanufactured 5.3 source?

Yes, I'm familiar witht them. But their engines are great performance upgrades and I just need a stock engine.

    Remanufactured 5.3 source?

Looking for a remanufactured 5.3 for one of our fleet vehicles. Seeing some negatives things about Jasper. Looked at JEGS and Powertrain Products. Kind of like what I see from Fraser. Need one real soon if possible. Probably going to get it with DOD deleted. Any opinions or suggestions...

    New Bilsteins

I put some new Bilstein 4600's on my 19 Tahoe LT. It had about 120k and the ride difference was awesome, much more stable on the highway. Figured I might as well put some on the fronts and it was even better. So if you have over 100k, think about replacing your shocks with Bilsteins or...

    Little rough when cold

My 19 Tahoe generally runs great. Has good plugs, air filter, etc. I notice when I first drive in my neighborhood, there seems to be a little roughness. Once I get on the main road and drive a couple miles, it runs perfect. I know on my older 04 that there was an issue with the intake gasket...

    2015 Suburban Problem Child

I just put a GM reman trans in my 19 Tahoe with 122k. I got the upgrade TC from FL TC and it's driving great. Already had the modified thermal bypass. Just a small thing, change your O2 sensors when the exhaust is pulled out for the transmission.

    Grade of oil

Here is a good video about Mobile 1 Extended oil. Among other things, they do a test on a Silverado 5.3 for 500,000 miles with 20,000 mile oil changes.

    Grade of oil

I just did a search on the Internet. An no, I would not let the oil life monitor go to 0, but it does help give you an idea about when to change it. It's also interesting to note that Mobile 1 Extended is now saying you can get 20,000 between oil changes. No doubt many would not do that...

Another bad GM transmission in my '19 Tahoe

UPDATE: Got my GM Remanufactured installed. I got an upgraded billet torque converter from Florida Torque Converters. I did all the work myself and it wasn't too bad. I got my Tahoe up on stands/ramps and used a nice transmission jack from Harbor Freight. It wasn't really that complicated or...

    Grade of oil

I'm no expert but I read a lot and have some experience with fleet vehicles. If you learn about the Dexos certification and the fact that GM recommends (for good reason) to use Dexos oil, then it might ease your mind about 0W20. Also, Dexos1 (for gas engines), is now a Gen 3 version and is...

    Picked up 2015 Yukon

Basically a lifter can stick closed and you have some ticking or roughness. Not sure if there is a way to know ahead of time. It's certainly not every 5.3. If it's running good, I would install the AFM Range device .

    Picked up 2015 Yukon

Buy it here and plug it in to your OBD under the dash. Simple as that. I've seen better mileage with this and 8 cylinder all the time. Sorry missed link: https://www.rangetechnology.com/

If I never replaced the transmission Thermal Bypass Valve, should I be running to the dealer ASAP?

I wouldn't be concerned, but I would upgrade the thermal bypass. (From someone who just replaced their transmission at 122k).
