DOD / AFM delete parts
It depends what you feel comfortable with....I guess. I just wouldn't put a new cam in a 240K engine. And I don't pull the trans to replace the engine. I just unbolt it from the Tq converter and the trans, Engine mounts, coolant hoses, harness connections.....and pull! It's just a big heavy...- fasteddy

Congrats getting to 240K! Original Trans? Your tic is probably not an AFM thing, maybe just normal wear and tear on a 240K engine. LOL. I would not do major surgery (which DOD delete is) to a 240K engine. It's basically the labor associated with heads and cam. You may want to consider a crate...- fasteddy

Buying a 2020 Yukon with L83 5.3L EcoTec - Should I worry about AFM Lifter Failure
My 2 cents. DOD is great in concept but in application has high probability of failure. I know a shop where HALF of their work is DOD delete on LS and LT engines, $4100. They love it. Without DOD, the 5.3's and 6.2's are great! My 6.2 made it to 90K and I "tuned" out DOD at 50K. I would not buy...- fasteddy

Thanks for the update. I want to try that cam. The Lower lift and bigger fuel lobe must be giving you more lower end TQ, which is translating into increased responsiveness with less throttle, thereby also the better fuel mileage. I have all my parts now except for the cam but I can't find that...- fasteddy

Scored lifters and camshaift replacement
That sounds about right for cam and lifter replacement at a dealer. It's a lot of work and the worst part is, it won't fix the problem. You'll still have a DOD engine and it will fail again. What you should do if you want it to last, is find a shop that will put it back together with a DOD...- fasteddy

6.6 Gas L8T Engine Swap in 2015 Suburban
They are doing it. Mast and TSP offer the L8T with port injection options. Mast has one with a charger on it and 1000+ hp. All you need is 58x reluctor computer and a gen v intake with injector provisions. I think the tuning would be easier on the port injection. Don't know about the front...- fasteddy

Considering 2015-2018 Denali, best transmission?
I have a 2019 Sub 6.2 10spd and its a great tow vehicle! Tows almost as good as my Ram 2500 Cummins but handles better. I'm about to buy a 2018 Tahoe Premier, please give me your insight!
Premier is good, Premier with 6.2 is better.....2018 5.3 for 40K seems kinda high, but that's been normal. I'm leaning towards the Arnotts. They say lifetime warranty and built-in computer bypass. Computer bypass is the key. Otherwise I'd go Fox or Rancho. I read they are designed by Arnott but built by Eibach. And if they are good enough for Thrust with the supercharger and big brakes they are worth...- fasteddy

I think it depends on the ride that you like. I like firm. I have a 15 Escalade and previous owner had already installed NER magneride knockoffs. I like firm but below 65mph they are way too stiff.
