Passed smog with flying colors. All monitors set but EVAP but in CA that is the only one that can be incomplete.
There is still the short in the fuse box but I'm probably just going to forget about it for a while since I won't need to smog for another 2 years and I know the work-around now...
Making headway. So I reset everything. Decided to throw 91 octane in the tahoe. And the Cat set within 10 miles. Coincidence? Can't say for certain but its definitely peculiar. Going to start running it all the time now. There was also a noticeable improvement in get-up, responsiveness, and...
So I've figured a work around to get the o2 HTR monitor to become ready. But I cannot get the EVAP or CAT to become ready. Not sure where to go from here. They just won't set in my IM Readiness in my OBDII.
Open to ANY suggestions to try.
Ok thanks I'll run it some more miles. Last night i disconnected neg battery cable for about 5 mins. Does that reset everything? Just so I know because that means I've only driven about 25-35 miles since last night.
It definitely didn't set with the o2 at least yet. o2 set today and I've driven it about 25 miles since it set. Do you recommend just keep driving it hoping it sets or do I need to be worried there is something wrong with my cat? Is there a good way to test my cat at home outside the OBDII...
I got HTR-RDY to set on the ODBII. I guess that will make it ok for Smog. But I'm sure it'll blow again, but the fact it's set should get me by I suppose.
Now just waiting on CAT-RDY and EVAP-RDY. Any tips for those? I've driven already about 80 miles. Still not setting. I follow the damn drive...
Thats the thing though nothing is burnt or anything? It all looks perfect.
Get this, messed with the fuse box a little. Then I unplugged both rear sensors. Went and put the fuse in. Didn't blow. Started car didn't blow. Then plugged in o2 rears and didn't blow yet. Driving it and now o2 HTR-RDY...
It blows even with both unplugged. Can you explain how I can perform the OHM test to find the wiring short? I've traced it as best as i can from the downstreams wiring thru the underbody and up the passengers side wheel well and up and around the back of the engine, and then to the fuse box...
Well the fuse controls both downstreams at once. So when i swap the o2 sensors it doesn't change anything. It still blows the fuse. I am not getting a code thrown yet, I might have to drive enough for the drive-cycle to hit. But what I am noticing is that on my OBDII scanner, my HTR-RDY...
Actually you are correct, with no fuse installed in the socket, only one side of the socket should show a light with a light tester. Yes i have tested swapping the sensors and the issue follows. I imagine it must be a wiring issue at this point, I'm thinking somewhere close to or possibly at the...
Good evening All, having an issue with my 2001 NBS 4x4 Tahoe. Stock.
So I'm trying to pass smog and was running into a 0161 and 0141 code (downstream sensor heater circuits for both sides). After some investigating, all o2 sensors are good, replaced and verified they work with multimeter. My...
Probably toast man and will eventually seize. Take it home while it's still moving and start checking Craigslist for someone to put a used one in for you from a junk yard. Can get it done for 850-1100 depending if you need the transfer case too. Great thing about these trucks is that tons of...
