2007 oil pressure thread with success

Any pictures or videos that you looked at before doing the job? You installed the 295 pump. I see that there is a m355 high volume pump. Is that the one thats required for the afm? I'm assuming the water pump gets removed, and the alternator, AC compressor need to be out of the way?

So even the vvt mechanism isn't affected by low oil pressure?

    Oil pressure issue

I have a buddy at work that has HPT tuners so I don't really need that part. I do plan on having him do the DOD delete and torque converter lockup tuning. I just want to see whats going on, and see the status of the monitors so I can know if its ready to be smogged (gotta live in commiefornia...

    Oil pressure issue

I've got two broken exhaust bolts on my 2002 tahoe. Been that way for years and so far no leaks. I haven't done any checking on the 2010 but it really doesn't sound like exhaust, and the noises vary in timing seemingly at random. Its coming from the passenger side. It really does sound like...

    Oil pressure issue

I just got this vehicle and I don't even know what the vlom is! When I originally got it it had a metallic ticking sound which we thought was a plugged catalyst. I got a y pipe from a denali complete with original cats and installed that (after discovering the output flange was bigger!) with...

    Oil pressure issue

In all of your (or anyone elses) low oil pressure situations, do you also lose power? I'm going through a power loss condition when my oil pressure drops. i had a shop put a mechanical gauge on the vehicle and while driving, the power loss happened the same time the pressure dropped.

IMPORTANT: The Chronicles of Low Oil Pressure by 07burb

Just to be clear, you can't change the oil pump by dropping the pan when changing the o-ring and pan gasket, correct? Its on the front and not easy to change? Would low/no oil pressure allow the DOD lifters to collapse by dropping those four cylinders causing a power loss in the process?

    Oil Pressure Gauge Stopped Working.

Thanks! Yeah I guess its really no different than the cross member for the rear of the transmission, and the additional four bolts for the steering rack, shouldn't be a big deal. Was your o-ring trashed too?

    Oil Pressure Gauge Stopped Working.

I know this is an ancient thread but I'm wondering how difficult it is to drop the pan on a 2WD yukon? I've got a random power loss that seems to correspond to intermittent oil pressure loss. The engine sounds perfect, no noise or anything. The sensor was changed, and the filter below the...
