    Cam choice?

LT4 will work. Yes it will require springs. The tune is required so the motor will run with the new cam. The tune alone gives you access to HP as well as backing off or getting rid of the torque management.

    awakening my vortec? need advice

Running 35's with a stock 10 bolt will eventually grenade the rear diff. The G80 (limited slip) is the weakest link. Aside from that is robbing you of whatever HP and Torque you are putting down now. might want to invest that money into some gears and a traction aiding devise. We just dropped a...

What did you do to your OBS GMT400 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Completed the rear swap! Corporate 14 Bolt, 6 Lug, 4.88RP, Detroit True Track, Disk Brake Kit and SS lines, U-Bolt Flip Kit. Wow what a difference! 4.88 was the way to go, will be dame near perfect with 37's. The disk brake set up shuts down the 35's PDQ.

    Monroe Shocks

To each his own obviously. To be fair Monroe has at least 3 levels of shocks. Not sure what others ran and had such a bad experience but i will stand behind my recommendation on the "Reflex". No there not Bilstiens but they are a great shock for the money. They tame my 35's and some mild...

    Monroe Shocks

My Brother and I installed the Monroe Reflex from Advanced Auto on his 2004 Tahoe about 3 months ago. I liked them enough to put them on all 4 corners of mine last month. Great shocks without breaking the bank. Buy them online and use the coupon code "Visa" to save $50.00 and shipping is free to...

    96 5.7 Cam Question

The "Tune" will net you as much or more performance than the cam swap. No matter which cam you choose you wont tap the full potential of the cam until you have the computer programmed to take advantage of it. By planing on the tune at the same time as the swap you can look at cams that fit the...

    Front Locker?

Tru-Trac is an excellent choice and there is a $50.00 rebate on them through December. However, don't waist the money building the stock rear. It just wont handle..well anything. I am rebuilding a 14BT SF now to drop in and replace my stocker that lasted a whopping 3 months after my engine swap...

    built 350 or 383?

The e-fans have performed flawlessly but then its been pretty cool since the rebuild. I'm really not expecting them to have any trouble keeping her in the right temperature range. Install was a snap and really allowed me to clean up the engine bay area. Not sure on the HP yet, we put it on the...

    cam

I think that you hit the nail on the head. The LT4 hot cam at: .495 INTAKE LIFT / [email protected] .218 DEGREES .502 EXHAUST LIFT / DUR. @.050 .224 DEGREES combined with a new set of beehive springs is a fantastic set up in the vortec motor. The springs safely allow the additional lift without any...

That may have been when they first applied the decal, but the Z71 option package was available way before then...and on the Tahoe.
