Maybe??!!??!!?? It looks lto me that with that bracket, the mount+speaker will stick out (down) a little. Worst case, you wouldn't be able to re-install your oem grille. For $19.43, I'd give it a shot!
I got mine done. I used the Kenwood KFC-6982IE 6x9's with baffles (so the magnetic isn't touching the roof of the truck). I decided to leave the 4x11 hole as is, and mount the 6x9 speaker from the topside. I thought that if I cut a hole to expose the whole 6x9, there would not be enough beef...

I'm sure you could do some kind of enclosure under the rear bench, but there is no way that the back seat will be able to fold down if an enclosure with any size subwoofer is in that enclosure.
Are they the Alpine SPS-600C's?? If so, like the stock speakers in the front door, there are 2 components; a 6 1/2" cone / woofer and a 1 1/2" tweeter that repalces the factory AC Delco tweeter. It's possible that the woofer is shorting or disconnecting, and thus you are just hearing the...

Thanks for all the tips. I ended up doing a Seafoam, and having a buddy with shop access do a couple of engine flushes. Now I'm good as new.. So, it must have been a sludge clot issue of some sort.
