Welp it was the tone! It drives great now. Couldn’t be more happy. Thanks for the help guys.

I’d never read that before but after reading into it, it seems you’re right. I’ve got my tuner swinging by later. This might be all I needed.

I’ll also look into finding an autocal for the tune possibly. If my friend with HP tuners falls through that will be the route I go. I do understand that the vehicle needs a tune just to clarify and I have had the intent to get it tuned from the start. But I can tell the problem is of a...

I actually did turn the engine ever by hand once I had the push rods and rockers in, about 5 times just to insure there was no resistance and to make sure every rocker/ valve was operating. I know my timing marks were correct when I installed the cam phaser aswell. Everything I’m seeing here...

I’d look at going the blackbear route but I don’t have a laptop to use for it. Unless I could find a long enough cord to plug it in at my house with my PC.

And the Range was just s to band aid it to get it back to the town I live in and parked till it could be tuned.

Unfortunately the VLOM got thrown out a week or so ago.

I did replace the VLOM with a non DOD valley cover. I didn’t plug the oil towers but the new cover came with internal O-Rings that are supposed to keep oil out. And it has not been tuned yet, but the only tune I planned on running was tuning out DOD via HP tuners. For now I still have a Range...

I’m really thinking this has something to do with the timing. Very little to no power, and possible piston to valve contact on cylinder one. I’m wondering if the cam phaser is misaligned from the cam and causing my issue. Or if it’s some other issue with the VVT. I’m debating on deleting it at...

I used a L9H factory cam, morel 7717 lifters, Acdelco trays, new acdelco crank sprocket, timing chain tensioner, cam phaser, and cam phaser actuator bolt, cloyes timing chain, stock push rods and rocker arms, .550 max lift springs, new high pressure melling oil pump and melling pick up tube, and...

So just finished up the DOD delete on my 2014 PPV Tahoe. It started after a few extra seconds than normal and ran but it now has a loud ‘clank’ noise coming from the drivers side of the engine. I’m worried that it’s valve to piston contact in cylinder one since that is the general area the sound...

    DOD/AFM Delete Valve questions

I ended up just sticking with the valley cover and that will hopefully keep it sealed up fine. So far I have the timing set in as well as the oil pump and the pan on and wrapped up with putting the timing cover on. Lifters and heads are next on the chopping block. The hardest part of the day was...

    DOD/AFM Delete Valve questions

Called TSP today. They said those plugs are only for the LT engines. Tho nowhere on the page does it specify which engines it’s for. It just says “DOD Hole Plugs SET of 8”.

    DOD/AFM Delete Valve questions

They will definitely take a little persuasion to go in, but I haven’t put any in yet since I’m worried about the top sticking up.
